I also rated this an 8/10. I docked a point for lack of puzzles. I also docked one point for sluggishness of character movement, like in RE2 remake. I also thought it was a bit short. It took me 7 hours, mostly because I can't barely even remember the original for some reason. I also like to be obsessive about exploration lol. Great graphics and sound. Character animation was excellent, just too slow for combat in my opinion. If Jill is S.T.A.R.S. I would expect a bit more movement from her. You make a good point about the side weapons. I am not sure if I was doing it wrong but I tried everything when a zombie grabbed me, like smack the button a bunch of times, hit it once, hold it down and they always still bit me. I am still unsure if that was supposed to be the result?

@RSM-HQ: I also docked 2 points off but mostly for lack of puzzles which RE2 had tons of, and for the kinda sluggish movement of the characters. I think this is because they used the same engine as RE2 remake. I had the same complaint about the sluggish characters on that remake. I don't feel the reuse of locations should be an issue after-all it does take place in Raccoon City.

Agreed! This is classic RE Survival Horror. Much better than 6 and the RE that shall not be named (couch* 7).

This review has hit the nail on the head. The devs Zenimax have turned the crown store into a gambling crate nightmare. No longer can you expect new cosmetic items, mounts or pets, unless you gamble on crates. Crates, which will give you cosmetics, mounts and pets, you hate, or give you cheap junky potions no one wants.

The devs still don't listen to 99% of the players or their suggestions or complaints. They broke their promise to the Plus subscribers and started playing a semantics game calling the dlc's they were supposed to get free each quarter "chapters, zones or expansions." Making them pay for the dlc's they were promised free access to with plus. It gets even worse, they put Jewelry crafting and Transmuting behind dlc paywalls.

PVE content has become so overpowered no one wants to play them. The community is so toxic players can't stand to group with others. They literally only listen the PC users who already get unfair add on programs to make everything super easy for them. Us console players can't even beat dlc dungeons or trials because the one shot hits from bosses are so overpowered I literally got hit with 345 THOUSAND damage tonight, in a oneshot hit. The devs don't care that 99% of players just want to have fun and compete the content. We can't all be super elite over powered pc players with add ons that coddle us.

I agree with 99% of what you said. I would however like to point out you can actually earn ALL of the crafting stations with Master Writ Vouchers. The jewelry station however, cannot be used unless you own Summerset Chapter/dlc/expansion.

I also find the gambler crates ridiculous and can't really figure out how they aren't illegal since gambling is illegal in almost all states. Yet they get away with it and they don't even bother to put new things in the crown store anymore, just gambler crates. Zenimax should never have been allowed to dev this game. It is really money grubby. Plus members don't even get to play most dlc anymore because they play a word game calling them "chapters" and "zones."

I agree with this review as it is very hard for a new player with very few slots to hold the thousands of materials ESO has invented and required for it's game, especially if you want to be a crafter in the game. I would like to correct the issue with potions though because in ESO potions may have the same name but have a variety of different secondary or tertiary buffs and they may also, have longer duration times. This is why some potions with the same name are not stacking. The devs should have added a craft bag to the base game for all users by now due to the extreme over encumbrance of the players.

Most of the skills have been nerfed( made junkier), and they are really clunky and button smashy, and glitch out constantly. They recently nerfed the healing staff skill line, sorcerers magic and pets, as well as nerfed shields and buffs. The game is a complete disaster combat wise at this point.

It is also true that the monetization of the game is money hungry and devolved into gambling crates and overpriced dlc's. Jewelry crafting was put behind a pay wall, the Transmute station behind a paywall. It has gotten so bad people can't even buy much in the crown store because they put everything players want in the gambling crates.
