^^^^ never got into it.

final fantasy is fun but too involved - not all of us have 100+ gaming hours :)

See, this is exactly why the Wii is so vacant in terms of good "hardcore" games at the moment, and why I'm looking forward to the future of my PSP. While I agree that handheld gaming isn't the same as console gaming, I want my handheld to play mini-versions of games I'd like to play on a console. For the longest time, I loved buying games for my DS, but now that I've also got a PSP, I can't believe I didn't get one sooner. The DS, like the Wii, has at least a 1 to 1 ratio for casual to serious games (okay, the Wii has more like a 4 to 1 ratio). On the PSP, there's probably closer to a 1 to 2 or 3 ratio (casual to serious). And by casual I don't mean games anyone can pick up and play; I mean games that appeal more to casual gamers than to hardcore ones (Brain Age and Nintendogs versus Castlevania and Silent Hill, for example).

There's no problem with casual games, but some of us aren't interested in them. The fact that my PSP is a mini-PS2 strikes me as being pretty awesome; I like the idea that I can carry a PS2 in my pocket, and also watch movies on a pretty decent widescreen (not to mention internet capabilities, etc.). Don't get me wrong; the DS has some truly awesome games (the Megaman ZX games, Zelda, the 8 million Mario games, FFIII, Castlevania: DoS, etc.), but at the end of the day, they still feel like portable games. A lot of the bigger PSP titles have much higher production values (look at Silent Hill: Origins), have lots of extras (Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles comes with Rondo of Blood and SotN), or is literally just a game that wouldn't work on the DS (the GTA: Stories series). A lot of these games aren't quite as casual-friendly, nor are they as good to pick up and play, but I like that I have the option to carry them with me, if I so choose.

different strokes for different folks.

You have very good points but you are more of a console gamer and i am not.

i like the GTA series - besides the lag issues (how did they release it like that is beyond me) but rachet and clank sux for its controls - and i didn't find dexter fun either - it feels too big for a small portable.

but again like u said u want a portable console - i want a portable gaming feel that feels like im playing something special not something shrunk down that should be played on a big tv.

just to add - i dont have issues picking up games and learning it - it just takes way to long to beat games for the psp - rather than just playing 20 to 30 minutes and being satisfied with the game.

sure there is tekken, crush, puzzle quest, worms, etc. but there is far more hardcore games and thats dissapointing

I've had my DS since it's launch and the only game I ever bought and played on it was Mario 64. I'm never buying a handheld ever again, too busy with console gaming._KenKittyragi_

BUY:! buy?! what do u mean buy?!

jk - anyways - i guess i'd like to add im not a console gamer - i play the portables before i go to bed - if my gf doesn't get too annoyed with it - and i play my wii every now and then.

have all the games for that but am too busy - psp just needs to remember its a portable - not a portable console.

i[QUOTE="jangojay"]PSP has fun games. The DS also has fun games. PSP has more functionality than the DS. Why can't the DS be a bit more like the PSP.jangojay

im not denying that psp doesnt have fun games but wow they get old super fast.

i have so many psp games but the only one that got me was puzzle quest and Syphon filter -

i just feel like when i'm playing a psp game it should be on a big tv not a portable - but when i play a DS game its meant to be for the DS.

U with me?

my Ds plays movies and music - but i'm too busy playing games.

I hope sony does something new with the PSp2 - cuz really - without the other things my psp would be gathering dust.

The only game I play for my DS constantly is wario ware. most of them got old pretty quickly for me. Same with the psp. But that's not that point. What would you like them to do with the psp2 to help upgrade it.

warioware is great - picocross is great - mario kart online is fun - the pheonix wright series is great - osu tecnkin 1 & 2 (japanese cheerleeders) is amazing (japanese version of the elite beat agents) brain academy is fun - Wow have u even played Trauma CEnter? be a doctor doing surgery on ur DS!

i can go on and on

but yes for the psp2 make me feel like im playing a portable game! i was playing ratchet and clank and wow do i need another analog stick - and the game just feels like a ps2 game - OKAY tekken is great but why no online play?

make a portable special that makes it stand out versus a console.

is that too much to ask?

DS has touch and its interactive way more than the psp will ever be.
