Judging by how they have handled their past handhelds and the fact that there are always improvements to be made (whether or not they really warrant a redesign), I agree with everyone else who is almost completely certain that we'll see a new version within the next few years.

Sorry if I am too new to this topic (I haven't thought about the issue as much as I've liked since too me it's a very grey area, and additionally I haven't read through this whole thread), but what would be wrong with having a sort of timer on the online passes (after x-amount of months/years, you don't need to pay it). Right now to me, the biggest issue is used games being sold really close to the game's release date. Again, my idea I'm sure is not great at all, I just need someone to explain to me why. Thanks. I will get back to reading the rest of this later, but in case no one has mentioned any yet, what would be some other possible alternatives to online passes that could help out the users enough without harming the developers/publishers?

If you had seen old videos of him from 2009... Way better. Now his videos pretty much suck. His voice sounded different 2 years ago :? , in a good way

Even though I normally hate it when people say things like this (so-and-so was so much better back in xxxx), but I think this is really true in his case. I especially enjoyed most of his daily vlog videos, until he started it up again. I thought some of his stuff from a couple years ago was pretty funny, but he's gone way downhill. His music channel has really annoyed me where nearly all of it is pretty poor yet still has millions of views.

Okay, I just opened it up and did some stuff. I'm pretty confident now that it IS the graphics card, so I'm just gonna buy a new one. If anyone else has any suggestions (to the problem or the answer) I'll take them.

Yes, there are two 1 GB sticks. So you're saying that if I took the bad one out, vista would load properly, and if the bad one was in there (assuming it's the RAM), then it would mess up and I could only start in safe mode. Right?

Yes, I got the dust out of the GPU's fan. And the rest of the card for that matter.

No, you think that could be the problem? Also, when I'm in safe mode, there are still all these green lines on the black background.

This problem has happened before, too. I'm not sure that it's showing up again is that something is slowly dying or if it's just more dust.

Yeah, I've stopped following the graphics card news a long time ago. Here I am thinking these lower 9-series are expensive [to me], and I check and they're less than 50. Any other suggestions?

Also, can anyone confirm it's a graphics card problem? The issue begins before windows even loads, and it works in safe mode (which does not use the graphics card "stuff"). I've taken it out, cleaned the dust out, so it isn't because it's dirty. Wish I had a spare to test it with...

1. What your CPU, RAM, PSU?

2. Budget?

3. Resolution?

4. Game preferences? (RTS, FPS, RPG)

kaitanuvax

1. CPU - AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2.6 GHz

RAM - 2 GB

PSU - Don't know, how do I check?

2. LOW! I'd prefer to not spend >$60

3. 1680x1050

4. RPG (But like I said, not used as much for games anymore)

Other info: PCI-Express slot, and the card couldn't be too much longer than the current one. Not too much room in there.

So it does sound like a Video Card problem, right? Another card I was looking at was the 9500GT.

Here's the problem. IMMEDIATELY when I start my computer, all of these strange lines show up. If I do not start in safe mode, it just goes to a black screen with green lines and stops. The only way to get it to work is with safe mode, and there are still artifacts on the screen. Through my research I'm pretty sure this is a graphics card problem, but just wanted some confirmation. I'm on Vista with an nVidia GeForce 7600GT.

I was also curious if anyone had suggestions for which replacement I should by. I haven't really followed the latest graphics card stuff, so I'm sorta lost. I want something pretty cheap (any good ones less than 60 bucks?) and that has similar performance. Even a little worse performance is okay, since it is not used for games as much anymore. I was looking at the 8400-8600 cards. What do you think? (And I do want to stay on nVidia)
