Hey, I'm thinking about picking up one of the Knights of the Old republic games for the xbox this summer, and was wondering if anyone had any advice as to which one.

After reading the many user reviews of both games on gamespot, it seems some people say the first was better, and others the second.

Just looking for some info as to which was funner and what the high points to each was, as well as if playing the first one is essential to understanding the second ones story.

Thanks

potpie06

Well, the first one was amazing. The story line and plot is awesome and has plenty of twists and turns. As for the second, I liked it more for gameplay because they expounded a little on powesr and changing the animations/physics to make it look and play better.

But if I had a choice between the first or second, KOTOR I wins hands down. It's a bit longer and has the best storyline.
and to some extent should be played before teh second or you'd miss a lot of the cool cameos revisited location etc you go to in the second.

also, is jade empire any good? how is the combat system? DrStewie04

KOTOR is real time turn based (think hidden D&D dice)

Whereas Jade Empire is more freeform combat, You don;t just choose attack, you can block, cast spells and punch/kick

[QUOTE="SaL_92"][QUOTE="niptuckSean"]I'm suprised at how many people love God of War... I thought it was a very generic beat em up, with a generic story... all it is is gore. I was really bored with it after a couple hours of play.Gre4t

wow, i thought i was the only one

well technically Shakespeare didn't create his own stories, he just took stories of his time and made them better

Your argument is flawed. Shakespeare wrote interesting stories. GOW is a standard 'story'.

But Shakespeare merely polished the stories up more that the original... besides who doesn't want to beat a god and feel like a badass doing it? lol

I think the funniest/stupidest thing happened to a friend of mine.

We were in the long curved Ice level, (Zanzibar i think) and I was up on a cliff wheras he was in the canyon. well I grabbed teh missile launcher and shot it down at him. Instead of booking it he ran in circles screaming! And finally said he gave up as teh missile hit him.

wow... there's a lot of games on the PS2 that took our breath away.

Shadow of the Collossus: for just the sheer size of teh game and it's Collosi

Twisted Metal Black: It was a small thing, but I liked who the weapons were more intergrated into the vehicles so they would fold in and out of the chassi as you switched weapons.

God of War 1 and 2: Both were visually astounding and with it's brutal gameplay really pulled out an awesome adventure that made you feel like well... a god! lol

There are plenty more I could think of but those are on the top of my list.
