What do you classify as a RPG game? There is no way to roleplay as an evil character. There is no karma system. The dialogue wheel was a huge mistake and is awful. A hugely disappointing game in my opinion ridden with bugs and glitches. I think RPG is becoming one of those genres that are just meaningless. People have different opinions about what makes a game a RPG. A lot of people see a leveling system and think oh hey that's a roleplaying game, but it's always been much more than that for me. In the older fallout games, you could be an absolute scumbag. You could have such low intelligence you could barely speak english in your dialogue choices. This is what made fallout great and it's been entirely taken away. In Fallout 4 you can ask for more money for your reward, and they will always give more, and there is no penalty. WTF? The game is a nice shooter with very light RPG mechanics but that's as far as it goes in my opinion.

@soul_starter: I still rank MGS4 highly as one of my top games, but it was still a pretty big let down. Having Snake be very aged right from the getgo was a big mistake in my opinion. It would've been much better narrative-wise to start him off pretty young then progressively see him get older as the game goes on. Think about the emotional impact that would have on the players. Also, Kojima advertised that you could choose your side in the war (mainly in act one) and influence the soldiers. This was pretty untrue because the game obviously nudged you with working with the soldiers you start off disguised as, and they struggle a lot more against weighing odds so it makes them more likable. Also the whole nanomachines thing was complete horse**** and ruined a lot of the series magic. A lot of the boss fights were pretty boring and bullet-spongey. Not to mention the completely useless Drebin character. Sorry if I'm going on a rant here but a lot of people are blind to the game's problems

Hardware advances have stunted, unless some huge technological advances are made we won't see too much better games than we've already gotten. Don't hold your breath

A lot of triple a releases this year I thought were hugely overrated. The big one that comes to mind is Fallout 4. Sorry if I just offended a lot of you.

@hrt_rulz01: Yeah not really sure how to go about this. There's a lot of series that I hold with high regard but I'd be lying if there weren't low points to them...

I agree with everything you said but MGS4 as a high point of the series.... uhhh what? Guess this is my own opinion but I thought that game was a very well polished turd. I am also a huge Metal Gear Solid fan (mgs1 being the first game I ever played) but it was a mess story-wise and gameplay wise.

Uh... mobile is in my opinion a pretty bad platform for serious games, which I think FPS falls into. Controlling a FPS game on mobile would be a mess and most games probably aren't that intuitive.

Undertale not only had a good story, but it incorporated gameplay mechanics with telling the story. There doesn't HAVE to be a divide, we just need more than QTEs to bridge gameplay with story.
