It's something with the system that's banned, IP and GT are fine.

If you like commiting fraud. Sure. and I'm sure the buyer on ebay would LOVE to know about it being modded as well as banned. (Neg Feedback) Ebay doesnt allow users to sell modded consoles.

Gamestop often tests xboxes for banned so probably couldn't do that without getting caught

Never did I hint at commiting fraud. Nor did I mention anything about Gamestop.

If you're not sure how to fix an electronic like a game controller I don't recommend you starting with an X-box 360 one. But if you want to give it a try they are fairly simple. Take note of what you disconnect and make sure you don't force anything apart, if it seems like it's glued in or together leave it alone. Replacing an analog stick was easy for the Playstation and original X-box but I don't know if they changed too much with the 360 design. In the end before you crack open the thing make sure you have the cash to all out replace it because anything can go wrong and you may be left with a dead hunk of plastic.

I'm not saying void your warranty, so be positive you want to try to fix it before you even start.

These three are junk to me, essentially. I'm hoping to get maybe one or two working.

I only found the top part of the joystick (rubber part) but not the analog stick itself.

I suppose I can actually give you some legit info since all the other posters here are dimwhits just trying to up their post count.

The motherboard serial gets banned, you need a new mobo. but encoded on the mobo is the drive serial so if you're buying a new mobo for your 360 (can't be banned ofc) you also need the drive serial or it will not work.

If you were banned from Live, then there was a reason. Live with your mistake.

Anyone care to actually contribute by supplying an answer to the question being asked?

I have a few 360 controllers I'd like to repair.

I found a few parts on eBay, for replacing the top part of the joystick.

Are these only to add new 'grips' to it? My problem controllers have these issues:

1. Left stick is stuck firmly to one side. Can move, but always reverts back to that side.

2. Right stick wiggles too easily.

3. Same issue as #2.

Any way to repair these?

I have a 360 that is banned from Live. What is the actual part that is banned, ie, what do I need to replace for it to have a 'clean record'?
