I read the book last year, still want to see the movie.

I agree that the world is rotten to the bone in many ways for many reasons, many of which include the powers that be, but the illuminati were in fact a group that dared to follow science and research in times when you could be put to death or named heretic for such thoughts. The church has given them a bad name with this NWO satanism crap. The illuminati were only ever trying to find the truth of things, they just happened to piss off one of the biggest cults on the world (christianity) while doing it. The new world order is not really a group trying to take over the world, but more of a tendency that is caused by rampant materialistic ideals, capitalism, lust for power, and overall corruption of the governments and peoples of the world by these things.

Just one of possibly many reasons why I'm almost misanthropic.
