@theinstakidd: That's an interesting possibility. I've read some good points that suggest Osiris isn't being controlled, he's just pulling a Dom Torretto in Fate of the Furious -- working with Savathun but can't tell anyone, for whatever reason. I think it's a real possibility that Osiris sees the value of allying with Savathun against the Darkness and is trying to make that happen. Also seems very possible that Savathun has taken on Osiris's form but the real Osiris (and Sagira too, potentially) is actually Savathun's captives -- it would be a pretty good bargain for Savathun to say, "help me kill my worm and you can have Osiris back." We know the Hive can kill Ghost and Guardians so it seems believable that they could also imprison them, too.

I hadn't thought about it but Savathun offering to give Osiris back his Guardian powers in some way would be reaaaaaallly fascinating. Not sure there's a lot of evidence for that in the lore, but then again, Savathun stuff is all over the place, and there's more that we don't know than that we do, probably.

@Galenti: Actually, it's just me. I kind of treat Destiny as my "beat" and I'm interested in the story, so I like to opine about it.

@voldrik: Oh maaan, that's great to know. This means making homemade slime for fun and profit is definitely something I'm doing.

I'd also advocate for Zeke the Plumber from Salute Your Shorts, who remains absolutely terrifying, and Dr. Vink from Are You Afraid of the Dark.

Also throw Petunia in there as a Master Hand-type character. It's just Pete's arm thrust down through the middle of the frame and the tattoo fights as he twists his wrist back and forth.

@shadyacshuns: At this point, anything is possible, but we haven't gotten much in the way of evidence for Eris being Savathun. Then again, the fact that we don't suspect Eris might count for evidence of Savathun's influence. And if Savathun's goal was to wreck the rest of the Hive for her own gain, her doing so as Eris has been incredibly successful. And hell, Eris supposedly wandered around in the Hellmouth for, like, a hundred years or something, without getting murdered. Nobody's ever really explained how she managed to just walk out of there....

@mogan:

I think we're getting a pretty good mix right now of clear enemies we have to fight and actual characters who might have more going on. Dredgen Yor is a pretty good example, even though he's a lore character -- like, Guardian who turned evil, had to take that guy out. But that doesn't mean he can't have a nuanced and tragic story to go with it. But I think that there will maybe be more to the Savathun story by the time we get there, even though there's a non-zero chance that even if what I think about her coming off as an enemy is, itself, a manipulation, she might still end up being an enemy in the end. I have a feeling Savathun might get close to wanting to be free of being evil all the time and then like...wind up deciding to be evil after all, or not being able to get away from it in the end. Or like Xivu Arath shows up to murder her for her betrayal and then we've got that to deal with.

Because yeah, like you said -- at the end of the day, we can only really stand in front of people while they talk to us, or shoot them.

And yeah, exactly what you're talking about is what I think is going on in Lightfall. When we have a bunch of aliens on our side, we end up going up against the Darkness proper -- and that suggests to me that if the balance of power seems heavily weighted to our side with all these allies, then the Darkness is going to be ridiculously powerful when it comes down to it. Story-wise, the upside of having all these major faction people on our side for that battle is that it gives Bungie an opportunity to have a bunch of super-powered characters get absolutely walloped by the Darkness to really sell how scary it is. Like when Rasputin just got shut off or when Oryx took out the Awoken fleet, but hopefully, cooler/scarier/with much more screaming.

But hey, also, thanks for reading!
