Hello

Ive been on the fence about getting this game for a while now. A few things concern me however..

1. Is it easy to get into? I played a bit of Civ 4 but was never able to get super into it...thats not to say I didnt enjoy it but is this game much different?

2. Is a new Civ going to come out shortly after I buy it? I hate when that happens :P

3. Once I get the hang of it is the online enjoyable?

I will purchase the Gold if I get good vibes from you guys.

Thanks!

Every time I try to join a friends game, I time out. Every time a friend tries to join my game, they time out. My friends however are able to join each others games..

Oh but I can click matchmaking and join a random persons game. :S

I am extremely frustrated with this, I have tried disabling antivirus and firewall. I have tried port forwarding...restarting my router. Nothing seems to work.

Does anyone else have this problem or can anyone offer some ideas?

It is not as much fun playing alone :(

Thanks

Is play now the only way to play cooperatively on same console? Is it not possible to play cooperatively in a season or something? If not that is ridiculous...

Thanks!

Hehe, right now I am thinking about making the switch to ATI. Looking at the 6950's. How would that card compare to my GTX280?

If you keep your mobo, you should get 4 sticks of ram to runin dual channel.

hmm, but is it really worth it if I plan to buy a new motherboard when BF3 comes out along with new ddr3 ram? :P

Your current setup is fine, stick with what you have. As for the GPU, if you want something of similar or a bit better performance, go for a GTX 460 1GB (not sure about AMD's equivalent for the GTX 280). If you really want a good boost in performance, either go with a HD 6950 or 6970 or a GTX 570 (the GTX 570, for the most part, out performs dual GTX 280s in SLI).neatfeatguy
Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I might just wait until BF3 to upgrade the rest, probably the best idea. However for the video card I do want to buy a card that will last a while, and run BF3 well.. I will take a look at those cards right away, thanks again.

Keep the opinions/suggestions coming :)

Hey guys..

I for a few months my computer has been crashing (mostly during games). I have done my research and narrowed it down to my video card.

I am obviously in need of a new video card, however I am wondering if I should just go the whole 9 yards and upgrade a few other things. I had my motherboard, and ram in mind..

My psu is fine at 900w, My cpu is an intel Q9450. My motherboard is an older nvidia board which only supports ddr2 ram which I have 3gigs of..

The reason I am posting on here is

1. Should I upgrade my m/b and ram?
2. I have not been looking at all the new hardware out (was happy with my setup). I will need help choosing my new parts..
3. Is it worth purchasing a solid state drive at this time..? I saw a few good deals on ncix.

Oh and my video card is currently a geforce GTX280 :P

At this time I do not know if I should make the switch to ATI...

Thank you :)
