@Sindroid Yep, I'll pay that. Not a perfect or even great film by any stretch, but the design and atmosphere of the Silent Hill games were what made them so terrifying and the movie absolutely nailed it. Underrated cult film IMHO.
@saturatedbutter: Yep, I'll back that. I loved MGS1, and persisted through the increasing levels of batshittery in subsequent games because I kept convincing myself there was something there. All those insane plot threads, ridiculous characters, and INSANELY laboured metaphors were building to a climax of some kind. Spoiler alert: they weren't. Kojima obviously designs some great gameplay systems, but he should be kept firmly away from anything to do with writing or character development. Absolute drivel.
