[QUOTE="cosmicwave"]aww. man that sucks. anyway, thanks for the advice guys and this (harvest moon) will be my first and last game that i'll buy from VC.Thiago26792
Just because you are too lazy to switch the cables? I think you must consider that.
wait I understand him, the wii should do all the work, like when it plays a VC demo from the Brawl disc that it goes from 16;9 to 4;3. If he are paying for them he shouldnt be forced to switch the cable everytime he wants to play a VC game after playing a Wii game. I havent had anyproblem yet, and I have like 15 VC games but if that crap ever happens to me Im going to stop downloading as well.
it depend IF you can only afford 1 game every 4 months buy SSBB but if you can afford 1-2 games a month I recommend picking up Super Mario Galxy is more epic.
This Is Why
That's one of the reasons for Nintendo's Pay and Play service. Downloadable content, much?
I myself had a good laugh when Nintendo announced the "Pay and Play" service...not because of the service itself, but because of the reaction from people. People actually thought Nintendo was going to charge them for online.
I stayed quiet during that whole cufuffle (well, I was laughing, but I didn't say anything) because I knew that Nintendo wasn't going to start charging people for the already free Wi-Fi Connection. It would be moronic of them to clearly state that they never intend to make people pay for online, only to later say "Oh, yeah, about that...we lied...enjoy!"
So there you go. There's your answer.
But other than downloadable content, I assume that Pay and Play will be used for a few other things, such as the option for certain gamers to utilize headsets. That way, "hardcore" gamers can pay in order to talk to friends, and at the same time it will keep the children safe from rapists and monsters, or whatever reason Nintendo has for fearing online.
I also think that Pay and Play will be implemented in games when people want detailed online leaderboards. When asked why Brawl doesn't have leaderboards, Sakurai stated that:
"It can...be kind of trying and painful for some people who want to be at the top and think that they're really good at Smash and they look at their online ranking and they're the one-hundred-thousandth best Smash Bros. player -- those are some of the reasons I've decided not to go with leader boards."
So, I think that for the people who are really competitive and don't care about being "the one-hundred-thousandth best" player around, Pay and Play can be an option for those who desperately want leaderboards. This would keep the more sensitive players in a state of "ignorance is bliss" (thinking they're the best in the world), while giving the competitive players -- who simply need to know where they stand in the rankings -- a chance to find out how they stack up against the crowd.
One other reason I can think of for Pay and Play would be to avoid friend codes if you don't want them. You could talk to random people, have your username displayed, view leaderboards, and enjoy a good round of "Mario Sport-Related Game", all while never having to type in a 54-digit sequence of numbers.
What do you think about Pay and Play now?
