I do agree with you that the 360 has a diverse offering but look at what usually sales the most: Gears of War, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Vegas, Halo, Lost Planet, Far Cry, Perfect Dark Zero, F.E.A.R., and soon to be Crackdown most likely.
Seriously look what happen to Viva Pinata. It is a great game that is not a shooter, and the sales for it are poor compaired to the shooters named above. I am afraid a game like Eternal Sonata or Trusty Bell, whatever you want to call it, want sell well because of the art style. I personally think the art style for this game looks amazing, but I think the majority of 360 owners are going to overlook this game. This is what scares me about Banjo Kazooie Three and Blue Dragon as well because I'm afraid the colorful art style of these games will turn the majority of the 360's audience off.
Now I'm not saying every game that is not a shooter on the 360 doesn't sell cause a few examples of this would be Dead Rising, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Dead or Alive, Saints Row, and whatever sports games you want to throw into the mix, but if you look at all those games, they seem to cater to an older audience.
I could be totally wrong about my second paragraph, and I hope I end up being proven wrong, but this is just personal opinion so don't flame me for it.:)
