Man you guys are jumping on him like a bunch of immature kids. The man's point is that he is being penalized for not buying the maps. And no matter what you say, that is not fair.

GOW2 does alot of things wrong...but one thing they did right is something Bungie is incapable of doing...setting up a playlist for people who want to play the new maps. If in a regular playlist, the new maps will be available if everyone has them. But EVERYONE can join the basic playlists.

The dude has a point. Just because you have special fanboy love for halo doesnt mean you have to jump down someones throat every time they say something that you dont agree with about the game.

actaully you are quite wrong

1. This is not the first time consuming game to come out for the 360. Oblivion, Mass Effect, GTA IV (depending on how you play it) etc. In fact everyone I know that has played ALL three games (arguably UP TO 150 hours of play) on just ONE system,

2. Ahem...didnt you hear? you can play games now directly from the hard drive. Lots of people wont even have to change the disc ONCE.

Sorry dude.....

Epic makes the game, not microsoft, it's up to Epic when it is released. MS does have influence but ultimatly Epic releases the game when tehy think their done.vendettared468

MS has more influence than you think. They PUBLISHED the first gears of war....all they have to say is "Look, we are coming out with a new console in [for example] 2011. We think Gears of War 3 can be the showcase for it...lets work on that." Then Epic focuses on designing the game with the new hardware.

ITs a two way street.

ehh its dlc, and MS paid RS alot of money for good dlc...so i dont see how you can use this as a reasoning that 360 is better than ps3, i have both systems and love them both. i debated for along time which one to get gta4 on, got it on 360 just because i have friends that play 360.

if anything i would find it kind of sad that MS had to dish out the money just to get an advantage and better dlc.

and this isnt THE, or even a reason not to get a PS3. not to start system wars but they are both great systems and im glad i have both.

Gokuja

Obviously the DLC does not make one console better than another. But its just ANOTHER way that the 360 has the upper hand on the PS3. Game after game after game, the 360 version of multiplatform games are just the better choice, and this is another one to add to that pile. So right now, if you had to choose between both consoles strictly from a gaming point of view, the 360 STILL is the best choice. THATS what he means.

Also, I think its sad that you think its sad that MS "had to" pay money to get rights to the DLC. Guess what? In case you didnt know already, MS and Sony are not non profit organizations. This is a highly competitive business. One which MS has been LOOSING money for years and is just starting to get its head out of the water. They are doing everything they can to make this xbox thing work. I APPLAUD them for throwing money in the right places to get the edge. THAT IS HOW THE BUSINESSWORLD WORKS. Contrary to what so many naive gamers like you think, these companies are not in it to make you happy. They are in it to make money, and to keep their shareholders happy. How do they do that? By investing money. There are many different ways that a company can invest money, one of which is PAYING UPFONT for exclusive rights. In case you didnt know, in the world we live in thats how rights become exclusive. Through money. Not through loyalty or some lofty and unrealistic ideal that you may have about how the business world should work.

So as MS puts down money stratigically like a veterean roullette player I applaud them, because it ensures that we will keep getting quality content...it ensures that competition with Sony remains robust so owners of BOTH consoles can benefit....and it ensures that MS will stay in the gaming business for many more generations to come. I have not enjoyed a console this much for quite some time.

I have the best idea... r u ready?

Make reliable consoles

RJLateralus

trust me they will. I know you may have had alot of problems, and so have I. But believe me...MS has suffered through this more than any one consumer has. All the public relations problems it has brought, all the money they had to throw at the issue....believe me this has been a HUGE headache for them. For that reason you can bet the farm AND your wife that it wont happen again. The xbox brand is very capable of making reliable consoles. The first xbox was a reliable beast and very advanced technologically when it first came out. The next one will be even more reliable than that, they will make sure of it.

For that reason you can buy an xbox 3 with a clear concious. Say what you want about MS but they didnt get to where they were by making many mistakes. And when they have made mistakes they tend to be really good about learning from them. So that wont even be an issue next generation.

The next xbos will DEFINITELY have blu ray. There is no reason why it wont. Anyone who thinks its not possible, well im not even going to waste my time explaining why its more than just possible.

The next xbox will probably have a CPU even better than a quadcore. When the 360 came out, dual core processors were just starting to catch on, and they put a TRIPLE core in there. Quadcore is so 2007...you can bet by next generation it will be something really sweet.

It will probably have one gig of ultra fast memory and a state of the art graphics card. And maybe, just maybe, some kind of parallel processing capabilities for AI. But that last one might be too much to ask for.

The hard drive will be smaller, and will probably be around 120 GB standard.

All in all it will be really sweet.

There are a lot of posts that are being locked for mentioning GTAIV... this one probably is now too.

I understand there is a sticky, but that's like making an "XBOX 360 Sticky" or even just a "VIDEO GAMES" one on the main forum page and force everyone to filter through it all.

Stickies should be for simple questions like "GTAIV Review, Agree?" "GTA IV How to get Online" "GTAIV Mission Help" etc etc.

It is ridiculous, it's comparable to going to a packed grocery store, but only one cashier is open. Nobody likes that.

mistablair

Finally someone said it!! You hit the nail right on the head there buddy. ITs increadibly stupid. Sure its bad to have the forum flooded with GTA IV topics and nothing else. But this is NOT a viable alternative. If its SO important to them, why dont they open up an exclusive forum from time to time. Halo 3 would of had its own forum...and now GTA IV would have its own...for a limited time. Its as simple as adding ONE link insteaad of a sticky. Besides....that would require FAR less work and resources than having people sit around and modding the threads and closing them at the rate they are doing it now.

But whatever, they wont listen.

For a long time, Gamespot has held a policy in which no game is perfect and no game deserves an absolute perfect score. Gamespot has broken that rule with Grand Theft Auto 4. So I pose a question: Are the perfect scores for GTA IV a result of long built hype, or of actual substance?Bulldog19892

I dont think it was because of hype...but i dont know why the reviewer actually gave the game a 10. If you watch the video review you see that he does point out a few things he didnt like about the game. By definition, then the game isnt a 10 because the things he mentioned as negatives are the kinds of things that generally lower other games scores even if only by a little.

This is the problem with Gamespots new rating system. Maybe the game deserves to be rated higher than halo 3, which got a 9.5. But under the new system, you cant rate it higher without giving it a 10. Maybe the game actually deserves a 9.6 - 9.9. But the new ratings system is overly simplified and and very limiting. So if you really want to set the game apart from other games that got 9.5 you have no where else to go but give it a 10 even though its not perfect.

IGN gave it a 10, but there is NOT ONE negative thing said about the game in the review.

Whatever it is im sure microsoft already knows exactly what conditions cause the RROD. I sent mine in 4 times...the last time i did i got a new one after LOTS of complaining and whining. Ive had this new console since early august '07 and so far so good (its one of the new ones with HDMI). But really we may never know what really causes the RROD. One thing is for sure...there is something faulty in the hardware. In gerenal the 360s harware is kickass....but there is something that is causing it to crash. PErsonally i think it has to to with overheating. But then again it might be something else that we dont even suspect.

My theory? they have a triple core CPU using 90 nm technology. Everyone who builds PCS knows that if you are building a comp with one of the old dual core processors (also 90 NM) you have to take into consideration heating and extra cooling options. The 360 is a machine with a TRIPLE core, not DUAL, based on 90 NM tech. There is alot of heat being generated there in a small space. If thats what it is, I dont know how they didnt forsee this. But hey maybe im wrong. It seems obvious to me though

One thing i have to say is that MS has responded to this pretty well. Some people might whine and complain about the customer service, but they are just mad when someone that doesnt speak fluent english answers the phone. If MS hadnt done everything they did to help with this problem, they wouldnt be in the position they are in the console wars. For the most part they are STILL doing quite well despite RAMPANT hardware issues. That speaks volumes to their response. We have all had problems with the hardware and with the customer service...but we wouldnt be writing in this forum if they didnt adress it proporly.

That said...for the next generation of consoles i am 100% sure im puicking up the next xbox. Why? After this experience you can bet the farm that MS is not going to play games and their next piece of hardware will be extreamly reliable. Im sure they are working on that already.

so bioshock 2 may be coming out for all 3 consoles. this is interesting. its on this site, so you can lookit up on home pagefluffers623

No that article does not say that its coming out for all three consoles. It just poses that question since 2K marin is looking for talent with PS3 and Wii experience. They could be working on something else. I really doubt it will come out for the Wii, but the PS3 is more possible. And IF they do release bioshock 2 for the PS3 im sure they will bundle it with the original bioshock (like the orange box) because the story is one of the most important things of the game.

But lets not get too excited about anything that article says...wait untill 2k makes an announcement cuz the only thing that article is based on is an employment ad on their website...which really doesnt HAVE to have anything to do with bioshock 2. Might be for other projects.

REmember when GRAW was the best game out, and considered the first "next gen" game?? People were blown away by the graphics...but compare compared to COD 4 graphics they are pretty bad! The game play isnt as good, the multiplayer was boring in comparison, there was tearing all over the place.... That game scored a 9.2. I bet if it was released today, it wouldnt get over 8.0. What a long way we have come in just 2 years!
