My samsung LCD kills anything I've seen, I have friends with plasmas and LCD both parents, grandparents in-lawish so I had alot to look at. So on Plasmas still images DO cause damage its just takes longer (due to the shifting pixels) and they have created ways to repair it, kind of but it still seriously reduces liftime of the tubes or panel (cant remember which) the damages comes from both, the fix as well. Basicly they burn the entire screen with nothing on the screen to erase the ghost similar to the "gray DVD they sold to fix Plasma burns. LCDs problem was response time and blurring and the 120 hz sets have about ended that issue completly I had an old old LCD and yes for gaming it sucked almost ruled out LCD completly because of my old one. Yes I researched alot before buying mine and was glad I did because otherwise I wouldnt have this set. Another thing that hurt plasmas is I am using my 46 inch as a computer monitor as well. what I'm typing on right now. LCD defiantly have the edge in this area oh and I think they are going to start phasing out Plasmas in the near future as well dont quote me on that though.

I'll LMAO if MGS4 ends up being an overrated average game. may not be, but would be funny if it was. Just to add fuel to these wonderful fanboys fire! Has a real good exclusive game even made it to PS3? I havent seen anything really outstanding, drake maybe? Main reason I havent got one, that and sony straight out lied about what the PS3 and its games were going to be like and the price of course. Just to be fair 360 did have the RROD, and pay for online. Luckly I dont care about online play I prefer to cuss at people to their face. No sense if you cant see the look on their faces! It cuts down on the jumping out the window and running for your life though. (misses split screen) :(

with my experience yes! and many others I've noticed had problems as well.Others have worked out fine so extend the warranty and keep an eye around the 5-6 month spot. Remember to register as well when yourget youconsole back (wont be you original console BTW).

I noticed the warranty says original owner. The system may have been registered by the first owner when he/she purchased it. If not, you need to register it and give it a shot. They will register it for you when you call if you haven't already. Good Luck to you.BiggDoggz66

Yeah I wish, no I was in the system with the console I currently have. I have a feeling the last time I sent it in the rep didnt know that they had extended the warranty from 6 months to a year. And just sent a box out without marking it as a warranty fix and messed my file up... You know no matter how I think about it it just doesnt make any sense. BTW BBB in my area doesnt handle it and fowarded my compliant to Alaska Washington area the ah,bureaucracy begins:).

Thanks for the reply but, yeah that wouldstill be in the launch year. Nov, Dec, Jan,Feb thats Just4 months after intial launch.

Here's my story, I purchased a 360 feb. of launch year. Have had 2,3 rings of death, screen freezes, failed harddrive, and recently the disk drive is grinding and cracking when reading or loading info from the disk. ItFreezes and sometimesgives me the dirty disk error. Problem is, the disk is fine! New madden out of the box did it, Darkness out of the box did it, and man does it hate SVR 2007. Every time I've called microsoft they put up a fight about warranty being out of date when its not even close. The last repair system I got back was dec. of 2006 (the fight I had to put up on that one!).I called today to send it backin for the grinding and freezing problemsand they said it was out of warranty. I was like when did I get the last repair done. They said december I ask about a extended warranty they put me on hold and said no I couldnt get a extended warranty untill I finished this transaction first. While on hold though I looked up the warranty info because well I'm getting used to Microsofts habits. There under the warranty page,you have a1 year after repairs are made. So I said I looked up the warranty info on your site andmy system is still under warranty. Its been under a year why amI being charged. Back on hold, whenthe rep came back they said they would give me a discount on repairs and their would be a 1 year warranty after that. I was like so your saying thereIS a1 year warranty and yet even though I'm still under warranty I have topay? This makes no sense.Your basicly saying I'm right your still under warranty but were still going to charge you anyway? Rep agreed but said there was nothing they were "willing" and cut himself off then said "could"do. Even after saying I was going to file with BBB and possibly take it to small claims court nothing. Rep. agreed it was wrong but his superviser wouldnt let him do anything about it so says the rep.So what the hell do I donow? I filed after that with BBB I guess I wait the 10 business daysfor a reply. The games are great but the continuedhardware problems and outright lying the customer service supervisers are doing is about to make me quit gaming all together.Which sucks cause gaming is alot cheaper than everything else I do. Guess I'll spent alot of time inthe gym training or something. I may sue for my money back though.... If anyone has any advise or comments to share I'm out of ideas. I hate to take it to court but it my be my only option. Well see! AndRight when Bioshock and stranglehold come out what bad timing! I'll update if you wish.
