I would just leave the PS4 in standby. It uses like 8 watts in standby which isn't a lot at all and I doubt it would cost you that much per month. Gameplay on the PS4 can use up to 150 watts.

Don't even bother trading in your XBox One at GameStop; you'll only get $175 trade in credit... Try to sell it or trade it for a PS4 locally on Craigslist.
@polishkid99: I don't know about the PS4, but in previous consoles the physical disc sometimes installs part of the game on the hard drive and runs the rest of the game from the disc. Sometimes it installs the full game, but requires the physical disc to just start the game. It varies from game to game. Maybe, someone else can give you a straight answer about the PS4 in this forum.
In my opinion, I like physical discs because I don't have to wait forever to download the entire game; the physical disc has the main game to install and then you download updates. It will take long hours or even days depending on your internet connection to download a full 44GB digital game. Also, my cable internet is capped at how much bandwidth I could use per month then I will start to have overage charges on my cable bill. 44GB is a lot of data to download. Another thing I noticed is that most digital games cost more than the physical discs where I live. Could be a different story in other locations. I also like physical discs because I can resell or trade the game. I'm just stating my opinion. I'm sure people who like digital games can list as many strengths on why digital is better than a physical disc.
PS4 - $400
36 Months Warranty for the PS4 - $50
PS Plus 1-year - $50
Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition - $50
GTA V - $60
Dragon Age: I - $40 (Amazon)
Shadows of Mordor + Sleeping Dogs + Watch Dogs + Infamous: Second Son - $85 (Black Friday)
Total: $735 (without taxes)
It's not that bad considering the fact that renting an apartment per month costs more than that and that is not including living expenses for everything else.
@d_parker: I've had my cable internet down for almost a week in the past and that's worse than PSN+ being down. I didn't create a thread and whine about it. If Sony wants to pay you back 64 cents or give you something back in return then so be it, but Sony isn't obligated to do anything. These things happen unexpectedly all the time.
It was only 4 days; not the end of the world. I'm sure you could think of more important things to do like spend Christmas time with your friends or family. If your cable TV or Internet went down for a few days... Do you expect to get free stuff? Nope, it's not going to happen.
1. How old are you MDK12345? Maybe, we can be more forgiving when you create these kind of posts.
2. To answer future posts... Make up your mind if you want to keep the PS4 or not. Your posts are all indecisive or completely random.
3. To answer this post... Not everyone can afford a broadband internet connection and many Internet providers cap max bandwidth per month. But you should already know this...
