What is a good temperature for my 9800 gt? I only have fan case cooling. Temperatures range from 66-75 degree celcius on day to day work and 81 celcius on Crysis demo. So is this a good temperature or should I turn up the fan speed by a little bit?

Thanks alot!

a 9500gt is a rebranded 8600gt so the 9500gs must be worseferret-gamer

The 9500 gt is actually very close to the 8600 gts, as for the 9500 gs and the 8600 gt well I haven't seen any benchmarks of the 2 on the same page.

You mean this? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4138011&Sku=SYXS-DG-038800 It has been out for a very long time. Anyways it has nothing to do with EA, its the developer of Crysis, Crytek that went out to get this computer built by Ultra.

EA is just sitting on their butts and looking for more ways to screw over paying customers.

its the sheer fact that it comes from the pristine manufacturer dell ;)

theDirtroad

Uh... no...

Seriously return it and get a laptop with an actual dedicated video card, if you want to play games.

What about Doom 3?

Or more recently Sins of a Solar Empire?

ASK_Story

I don't think you can run those. Sorry.

Um, my brother's laptop with a GMA X3100 can play Sins of a Solar Empire at all high(a step down from very high), no bloom, no AA, res 1280*800. Like I have said Sins of a Solar Empire is designed to run on lower end computer, while looking good at the same time. The GMA 4500HMD is also better than the X3100

When I last looked on the Windows Experience I believe it said 2.0 to run Sins and 3.0 recommended, while Windows Experience isn't precise it still gives the user a general idea how it will run.

but intel will cost me 1340$

ma3oony

$1340, would the be an extreme edition? Those are really expensive compared to the regular Intel Quads.

But ya, if all of the Intels are that expensive then I guess AMD is fine.

You can play Sins of a Solar Empire, it was designed to run on weaker computers while looking great at the same time. It is a great game, I highly recommend it.

Empire: Total war will last for quite a few years, the same way I played Rome for 3 years (while playing other games at the same time :P)

You've also got to have enough amps on the 12V rail, just add up all the amps under the 12v parts (there should be a sticker on the side of the power supply)

markop2003

So it is the total amps that count when considering if a device get enough amps? Sorry, I just don't know much about how amperages are calculated when you are looking at the power supply to the computer.
