@P00DGE: I'm actually Hispanic and gay. And getting tired of corporations shoe-horning these changes in in an effort to placate "people like me". It's insulting. And people like you, who think it's relevant to my life or that you're doing something on my behalf, are even more annoying. We don't need your representation and certainly don't need your defense.

Now...go ahead and tell me how I'm in the wrong for being a gay minority and int he wrong for being upset about unnecessary minority casting.

@P00DGE: Do a search about what happened when Johnny Depp played Tonto. And that wasn't even a reimagining of the character, just a studio that *dared* to cast a non-white actor in a Native American role. You also obviously haven't been following the whole cartoon voice acting debacle of recent. White people voicing black/Asian characters. And these are cartoons, no live action films.

It's pretty clear by your unwillingness to even do a tiny amount of research (or simply ignoring it) and blatantly admitting to trolling what your real agenda is here. If you enjoy looking like a fool, by all means continue posting.

@P00DGE: We've now established that you have a thin comprehension of the English language. Your post is bascially "No you!1!" Please, please...enlighten us with more of your 'wisdom'.

@ceelogreen94: Clearly you weren't paying attention to what happened when Johnny Depp was cast as Tonto. Absolute outrage, across the board. And he wasn't even portraying Tonto as white--he was just a white guy playing a Native American! You know why you don't see any non-white characters being reimagined? Because of shit like that; if even the prospect of a white person playing a non-white character is too much for people to handle, imagine what would happen if they changed the character entirely. You're absolutely kidding yourself if you think people wouldn't care. Again, if it's no big deal what race/sex/sexual preference a character is, why change it at all?

@ceelogreen94: Or maybe they're people who respect the original content and characters and see the change as totally unnecessary. I mean, if it doesn't matter what color Velma is, why change it at all? Except to potentially upset people? Antagonistic behavior without justification; Mindy here is intentionally trying to piss people off knowing she'll be defended by people like you. Apparently these days, being anything but straight and white means you can't say anything without being considered a racist bigot.

@P00DGE: It wasn't a good point. If you don't think these sort of changes aren't been pounded into the content, you haven't been paying attention to cultural state of affairs in America for the last decade. Look at Disovery, for example. More than half of the cast is LGBTQ, non-binary, non-white, etc. They've devoted entire episodes to discussing the sexuality of characters, completely irrelevant to the storyline. What purpose/agenda do you think these serve? Issues of race and sexuality are being crammed down the viewers' throat these days. People are entitled to complain about unnecessary content changes without being labeled. Based on your replies here, you resemble a stereotypical "twitter kid" much moreso than the people you're replying to.

@stickemup: Also, while I am sure there must be examples, I cannot immediately think of any instance where a black character/figure was turned white. So I can't think of any outrage attached to it. Feels kind of like a strawman to say there would be more outrage. I would be happy to hear some examples though.

You won't see any examples. That's exactly his point. lol Every response you've posted on this thread is nonsense. Like you don't even understand your own arguments.

@Sound_Demon: lmao. They are fictional, they arent sentient, they dont need "respect".

You came to this article to express outrage. I came to this article to make fun of people like you. We are not the same.

You've literally just described your own hypocritical behavior.

@chriss_m: A cartoon character is insignificant. You know what I do when I see a change like this? Nothing, I just don't care. Because it doesn't matter.

You just want to feel attacked

That's not true. Apparently what you do is visit forums and troll other posters. If that's "nothing, I just don't care" to you, you need to get your head checked.
