There's a story here on GS from an "insider" that say's the game could be easily made to run in offline mode but EA refuses to. But sounds like servers are only half the problem. It's to bad bc the game looks pretty cool. Who knows what kind of pressure EA put on Maxis to get it out the door. Sounds like the game wasn't ready.
I'm thinking they were waiting for the next gen systems to come out before working on HL3. I don't think they thought it would take 8-9 years for that to happen. Hopefully we'll see it within a year or so.......hopefully.
Yes and I have a closet full of old systems. But it's 2013 and they have the capability of doing it so why not? Also you would have a full PS3 library and PS4 library to play. That seems like a good idea if you were trying to bring in someone new to sony
Not sure what cloud base backward compatibility means. It doesn't sound like it will play PS3 games right out of the box. Of course the xbox and ps4 will have top shelf hardware and good looking games but I think it will come down to what you can and can't do with it.
I love how GS always uses the FX-60 for their tests. Can you even buy those anymore? Newegg only has 2 FX CPUs listed and that's not one of them. Why not list an AMD 64 x2 that most people use?
