You could not sit in a room with someone who had not ever heard of Sega or Nintendo and sit there, after listening to the sound quality, that’s quality and clarity, not complexity, of Mortal Kombat 2 with a straight face and say ‘Nintendo’ sounds better.” They would think there is something wrong with you.

Until you’ve actually done all that boring actually watching the videos and messing around with sliders come back to the conversation and even if you continue to lie that SNES sounds better at least you will know, from here on, in your heart of hearts just how awful that hunk of junk sounded.

Low compression bitrate means shaved frequencies from both sides of the spectrum and if you sample a synthesiser which many many games did, that’s hardly going to be better than a synthesiser is it? A stereo won’t bring the sound out much more than a simple tv speaker just make it louder.
