e011234 Arrrh. I bought my PC long ago, like 2004. Now all i can play new games like this at is like, 1280 times 1024 resolution and low settings...I am not gonna upgrade from my 6800 and spend $1000 AUS just to buy a 8800 ultra, meaning extra money ie, another $1000+ AUS to upgrade CPU, ram and mobo so it wont bottle neck my new card, just to play these new games at mere 20 fps. Far out. PS3, here i come!. YOU WONT BE ABLE TO PLAY A GAME LIKE THIS ON PS3 YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR PS4 THE TOTAL COST OF THESE 2 SYTEMS WOULD COME IN AROUND $1500-$2000 JUST USE YOUR BRAIN AND UPGRADE YOUR PC

why is the ps3(thee worst console) even being mentioned on this thread? this game isnt available for ps3(thee worst console) never will be so why is it being mentioned here who's talking about 1080p? (quite a mid resolution compare to modern pc's extreme hd capabilities) go away with your ps3(thee worst console) this thread is about crysis dx10( not capable on ps3) vs dx9(ps3 is capable of this but it is so oldgen now) so why that console is being mentioned on here, other than to wind people up is beyond me

Savages_Havic Both of you do realize you can build a gaming rig for under 1000 dollars that is going to run crysis on high settings? If your still running an old agp system then I think this would help persuade you too do an upgrade. Recently about 1 month ago I built a new rig for a little 800 dollars. I have an amd ahtlon 6000+ x2 dual core 3.0ghz processor, 2gb crucial ballistic ram, 8600 GTS, 120 gb sata drive, 650 watt BFG power supply, and windows xp. It will run crysis great on medium settings, it can run it on all high but not during firefights. Though I didnt build my new pc for crysis, just to handle the new games in general. Too those people who are literally blowing thousands of dollars to run this game Ill give you a few pointers. 1. There is absolutly no need to be running a quad core right now at all. 2. There is absolutly no need to be running dual or even triple SLI Mode GTX cards too run crysis. your getting an extra 10 frames for each 500 dollars you spend which isnt even close to worth it. 3. IF your running windows xp there is no need to have more then 2gb of ram, and for vista no more then 4. I swear some of you guys just have too much money then you know what to do with. IF you were smart you would wait for the 9800 series cards, but ull probably be buying them right when they come out anyways. PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR BOTTOM MY QUAD CORE AND 8800GTX SLI SETUP ISNT JUST FOR PLAYING CRYSIS THERE ARE TONS OF GAMES THAT BENEFIT FROM A MULTI CORE/SLI SETUP AND SOON SO WILL CRYSIS AND 2X GFX CARDS DO GIVE MORE PERFORMANCE THAN A SINGLE CARD AND 3X GFX CARDS DO GIVE MORE FPS THAN 2 EVEN IN CRYSIS ,SO I THINK ONCE THE GAME HAS BEEN OPTIMIZED IT WIL ALL BE GOOD

YOU SEE A $750 TO $1000 GFX CARD (from nvidia as ATI dont make any) WILL GIVE YOU 25 FPS+ AT 1600x1200 WHEREAS A $275 ATI CARD WILL MAX OUT AT ABOUT 20(stuttering) FPS

and there is a point in buying a $1000 gfx card YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY AT HIGHER SETTINGS WITH SMOOTHER FRAME RATES THAN IF YOU BUY ONE OF ATI's SUBSTANDARD-----CHEAPER UNDERPOWERED CARDS

do not buy any ATI card buy yourself an 8800 series instead if you wanna play this game why compromise the video quality by installing one of ATI's rubbishy driver support lacking gfx cards

to all you console lovers ,going on about pc gamers having to spend hundreds of pounds on upgrading their pc's SO WHAT ,that is why i chose pc over the pathetic , stagnant and stationary gaming platform refered to as CONSOLES--- YOU GUYS ARE GONNA HAVE TO PAY SEVERAL HUNDRED POUNDS ON THE PS4/XBOX720 IF YOU EVER WANNA PLAY THIS GAME THE WAY ITS MEANT TO BE PLAYED
