[QUOTE="mvlbr"][QUOTE="duane27"]I think a lot of people just don't treat their PS3 right. You got to let it breath like a PC does. Or it will die. And mostly because the dust will build up and kill it just like in a PC.JKnaperek

You're both wrong. Who spends 600 dollars on a system to treat it like crap. Nobody. I have no doubt he treated his system well, I've treated my system very good, always had good airflow and it also got YLOD. The 60g systems are starting to break down. More and more of these threads are popping up. If your system is still working fine for you then I'm very happy for you, but don't assume that we don't take care of our systems. It can happen to you as easily as it can happen to any of us. FYI: A couple of things I've noticed about the newer systems. They may not have 4usb slots, the card slots, and backwards compatability. But they're definately alot cooler running. After hours of leaving my PS3 on, the newer 80g model, it continues to blow out cold air, whereas my 60g was always blowing out hot air. The system is also noticeably lighter, probably from taking out all those other things, and seems to have way better airflow. The harddrives from the 60g model don't fit in the newer 80g models. The front panel that comes off the 60g model does not comeoff the 80g model. The eject drive is a little noisier. The cable slots in the back of the 80g are in different spots than the 60g. Although I'm not happy my first system got YLOD, I'm very happy knowing that the newer models have addressed some of these issues. But, then again, time will tell. Luckily I picked up the extra warranty this time around. I leave my PS3 in a Cell and don't feed it. I whip it daily and tell it how worthless it is. I never give it a bath because it doesn't deserve one...But seriously. I have it in an opened area and clean it almost daily. To be honest with you though my Xbox should have RROD by now I don't even touch it but it's still kickin'.
