I guess the last of us and dark souls work for the visuals, um, kind of, but really, how does no one notice that 11 is basically Alma Wade from F.E.A.R. and that the upside down is basically Silent Hill? I mean, the entire plotline with 11 is the same as Alma's story, even down to the monster being linked to her, and the father experimenting on his own child aged daughter, or kind of daughter anyway. Harlen Wade comes back to haunt Alma in F3AR as a lanky, tall, dark, slender-esque monster that's a lot like the one in the show, and Alma's not a fan of him throughout that game. I mean, even the jacket that Winona Ryder's character wears is like the one James Sunderland wears in Silent Hill 2, not to mention the various melee weapons used, the static and electromagnetic interference when the monster was around, and the nightmare world that everyone gets trapped in when it appears... Call me crazy, but I was noticing a lot of stuff that definitely reminded me of Silent Hill and F.E.A.R. Just my two cents, but who cares where they got all this stuff from, the show is great and it does show that it's better to more of less rip off than re-make any day, because in the end, the elements "stolen" from other artistic works end up just being a smaller part of a larger whole, a bunch of cliche's that help to fill in the gaps of an original story. It's the same as Indiana Jones, that whole series is nothing but adventure serial cliche's and yet it works, because the director had a vision, and a simple, solid idea for a film, based on a few well loved archetypes.
