it has a lot of great concepts that most people are demanding in an MMO. for instance, the interaction with an enemy when you slice them to bits with your melee weapon, while other popular MMO stick to the original "red damage highlight", then the enemy just falls to the ground in a small animation. another is the detail, as everything you see in the trailers IS basically how the game really looks. in a way, its very unique and beautiful. its also very interactive.
i believe the one aspect that throws new players off, is the rumors of the game being pay to win. new players believe this simply because they don't notice that you can buy just about everything with credits, the freely obtainable in-game currency. for example, instead of buying the weapon you want with platinum, real money currency, navigate through the market until you find the weapons blueprint, then buy that with credits. afterward, its all a matter of farming the resources, building it, and waiting for the build time. also, i think that some players go straight to PVP mode, which was never a really big aspect to the game in the first place. usually new players face OP players as soon as they join, then rage quit in the end.
if i haft to outline what you absolutely had to pay for in warframe, that is strictly unobtainable in game, is cosmetics. helmets and prisma cosmetics you can get for free, but regular cosmetics are not obtainable by credits.
lets not forget its most popular feature, constantly FREE high rated DLC. new weapons, new quests, new classes, even new gameplay is added to the game monthly. this has been the way of Digital Extremes from since the games release, to keep adding to the game until its perfect. not only that, the company is also very open minded. they listen to their audiences via forums and main websites. so far as to have their fans help out with projects by outlining fan made concepts. Zephyr, a playable character class/warframe, was originated from a fan made concept of the character. it was soon chosen by the developers, then actually installed as a playable character in the game.
overall, warframe is the one of the greatest underrated MMOs out there. it has a lot of content and gameplay to back it up. even today, the developers have promised new content to take Warframe a step further. the game is good, and better than other over-hyped MMO. Did i also mention the the game is FREE. there is absolutely no reason you should not try Warframe. even if you have already tried it, try it again cuase there is most likely some new content you missed out on.
the game is AMAZING, constantly changing, and has little downside. try warframe, make sure you play it correctly, and experience more than just a regular MMO.
