I didnt want to trust them, seeing as how I dont know the type of people who post there, or their motives. Either way, I'm done, I've said it before, and pathetically came back here, because most other forums are full of even worse people than gamespot forums are, but I mean ti this time.

*led me to, if I type in reqs then all that leads me to is the general reqs (450 watt, some elaborate with the required 26amps on a 12 v rail, some dont. Clearly that isnt helpful when I've read forums that suggest you need a much higher psu.)

I tried google searches with the following keywords: 9800 gtx+ psu, 9800 gtx+ power supply, hd 4850 power supply, hd 4850 psu, all of which led me vague answers in forums, or "NO NO NO! you have to use a 1000000000000 watt psu to run that, and you have to spend 100000 dollars, for said psu"

I dont get why no one can ever answer the questions I ask. Its like I have to ask them in 10 different ways, and even then I only get a handfull of responses(most of which are useless or fanboyish)

the hd 4850 or the 9800 gtx+, and which one would have a better chance of working with my 500 w thermal take psu with 29a combined on both 12v rails?

or are those not the amps, and some other sort of measurement, if so, then how do I find out how many amps are on each 12 v rail?

The new gfx card I want to buy(9800 gtx+) says it requires at least a 450 watt psu, with a +12 v rail with a rating of 24 amps, I noticed that my current psu exceeds the minimum wattage requirements, but also that it it has 2 12 v rails, and neither are any where near 24 amps (one is 15a and the other is 14a) Would I have to get a new psu in order for this card to work?

I've got 2 12 volt rails, the max for the first rail 14 a, for the second one its 15 a, not sure how to intepret that, I can give you the specific model for my psu if necessary.
