[QUOTE="Colt45fool"][QUOTE="longdongsilvr"]Bloc Party's first album owns. The second album = MEHI would say shy away from OneRepublic, from what I've heard, they are very repetitive and get old fast.
If you want some good rock bands that are currently putting out good music, I would recommend -
The Black Keys
The Raconteurs
Queens of the Stone Age
The Fratellis
Radiohead
The Shins
Silversun Pickups
TV On the Radio
Wilco
Arcade Fire
Arctic Monkeys
Beck (has some hip-hop elements to his music, so i'd say definitely check him out)
Bloc Party
The Flaming Lips
MGMT
The New Pornographers

lol, both of Bloc Party's records suck. Their only good song was their single off their first EP & LP (I think it was called "Banquette" or something), and there's hella bands that do dance-rock better than that.
Any suggestions? I'm just starting to listen to that kind of dance-type rock and am liking what I hear.
The Nickolodeon thread reminded me of another part of my childhood that has been brought back recently between my friends and I. Did any of y'all ever used to play NBA Showtime for n64? It was made by the same people who made NFL Blitz, and it is basically a basketball version of Blitz. It is 2-on-2 like NBA Jams, but in my opinion, like 10 times better.
On weeknights up at school when we have nothing to do or can't go out because of schoolwork, we will play this for hours at a time. The game is hysterical, Shaq is probably twice the size of any other player in the game. And guys like Chris Mullins (Pacers), Alan Houston, Sam Perkins, Steve Kerr can absolutely make it rain. And Rasheed Wallace is absolutely unstoppable, especially when he is paired with Damon Stoudemire (this game was made during the height of the Jailblazers). The best teams are probably the Lakers, Pacers, Blazers, Spurs, Knicks, and Rockets. I'd recommend using a certain herb before playing (not sure if Mary J references are cool or not), b/c it makes fade away 3's from almost half-court and dunks from beyond the free-throw line where guys will jump higher than the back board that much funnier.
My roommate and I picked up a copy at the local videogame store for $4, so you definitely get your money's worth.
Anyone ever played Showtime?

I would agree with that, but I would say their 2nd album is better than the majority of the crap out there in the genre.
I am going to recommend the album Aha Shake Heartbreak by Kings of Leon. Some awesome southern rock can be found on that album. They are opening for Pearl Jam this summer (who you should also look into if you want great 90's alternative rock).

Can't wait for this movie. In the Godfather Pt. II, De Niro and Pacino didn't have a scene together. In Heat I think they only had this scene and the ending together. This film looks like they'll be on screen together a lot...
Pacino and De Niro are maybe the top 2 actors of the last 40 years...and since we're on the topic I might as well ask the question. De Niro or Pacino? Who is the better actor? I'll take De Niro by a hair but they are my two faves.Orlando_Magic
I'll take De Niro. But not De Niro of the past 10-12 years, he and Pacino have both lost it in the past decade or so. My expectations for this movie aren't really that high. They were both great in the 70's/80's/early 90's though. The best actor right now is Daniel Day Lewis. Watch Gangs of New York, Last of the Mohicans, and There Will Be Blood and try to disagree with me.
