Thanks alot for the answers. I'll probably go with a mac then considering that I'm not really going to use this comp for gaming. It's mainly a school and work comp, but I will be doing video and music editing on it as well. I was also wondering how they fare when doing things like 3D programming(3dsmax ect.).
I'm buying a new laptop for school and have considered going with a macbook pro (something new). I was just wondering how they are compared to compared to other laptops in their price range. Also, how is OSX compared to Windows Vista currently, and are there still compatibility issues with most software. To sum it up, I just really want to know the pro's and con's of this platform.

This one looks interesting. What makes it better than say Trend Micro or Mcaffe?
