I was watching G4 last night and in the loop on AOTS they were discussing if the console is going to be worth it in the long run. the answer is YES..........but you have to wait a little bit longer~
With the recent price cut the PS3's sales tripled but still after the consoles first year where are the games? Currently there are a few great games for the playstation but the 360s line up of exclusives currently dominates the market. it definitely shows that the playstation can sell is self from the great reputation sony has made for itself and people will see what they spent theyre money on soon.
Currently Bigger third party developers are starting a trend for developing on the ps3. They are getting ready to produce some huge titles for the ps3 but to tease theyre fans they are releasing titles on Sony's psp to make the time go by a little bit better.
Kojima productions was on the first to start this trend was back on the playstation 2. After snake eater came out they started hypeing up Metal Gear Solid 4 for the ps3. When Subsistence came out they included trailers for MGS4. So to keep gamers hyped during the 4 year developing period they released MGS portable ops and a year later MGSpo+ on the PSP.
Square has also started on the the ps2 with FFVII dierge of cerberus which was part of the 4 part FFVII compilation. They created a movie, cellphone game, ps2 game, and to top it off a psp game. Crisis Core does the exact same thing to FFVII ps3 as MGSpo did for MGS4.
And finally God Of War, god of war did amazing on the ps2 and so did its sequel. So to keep things rolling they also created GOW chains of Olympus for the psp to get players ready for theyre ps3 monster GOW3.
So to answer everyones questions, should i get a ps3, is the ps3 worth it, will theyre be any good games,
