i had this recently, if you ring MS they will tell you to press some code on the memory tad on ur dash bored and it will remove any errors in ur HDD memory wise, witch sorted it out for me.

ya, ive actually tried that, the X, X, LB, RB, X, X, thing. it didnt seem to make a difference, it would freeze, start beeping at startup then freezing, and still have the scrambled screen.
i know, but i would rather get an entirely new system just in case the hdd might be the prob or at least part of it, its worth it to just xfer a few saved games, i dont care about the rest.
i guess my 360 should be added to the list of broken systems...i always heard about the red lights though, but this one just stopped working properly, freezing, getting scrambled images, things of that nature without the red lights-o-death. im sure someone is gonna say crap like, "you have it on shag carpet", or "you have it plugged into a power splitter", "you move it around like that moron on youtube", or something like that. well, the truth is i took very good care of it. im not that frustrted though, i have a product replacement plan so i can just get a new one, but its unfortunate that the quality of consoles, not just 360s but in general are less stable. or it may appear that way with all the posts about broken consoles.
the good thing is that i can purchase a memory card and moved my saved games into the new one. it stays working for at least that long. for as amazing as the 360 is, its a shame that there are this many unstable units, but thats what replacement plans are for, i suggest getting those whenever possible as opposed to sending it to micro$oft.

i think if they make halo a completely different game, then it will probably anger more fans than if they kept it relatively the same. It is like cstrike, they changed it a small amount, and even then people complained about the changes (shield, etc...) I bet the same thing will happen with halo and the few people whining about how it "gets old" will just backtrack a bit once it comes out.
