I am pissed not just because the PS3 version of the game suffered, but mostly because Square promised that it wouldn't.

I am NOT buying this game now. I WILL buy Versus, but not the canonical FFXIII.

^^^

PO had a story. PO+ did not, as it was a simple expansion on simply the online play

mgs:po is a legit metal gear game, and a very good one at that.

just look at its reviews

i dont usually post on forums, but i have to say this is just so stupid that i had to. who cares what the madden-publisher thinks? do they have any other games? they dont make exclusives for any system, so who really gives a fig?

in any case, there's mistakes in some other posts:

-ff13 IS ps3-exclusive, as-is mgs4. Hideo Kojima has stated MANY times that he personally didnt think that the game could run on the 360, and as for ff13, a publisher like squenix would absolutely DIE to make their number-one seller in america multi-platform, especially where the system it will not be out on is better established. they would have said if the game would go multi-platform to not force fans of the series to go with a whole new system, and they have not, a sure-fire indication that it will not. assassin's creed:8.5 months in advance. RE5: 14 months. DMC4: 9 months. correlation? lots of time for consumers to make up their minds

-according to systmwars.com, the ps3 has moved 6.8 million units thus far, 360 at 13m. Wii: a cool 15m, after a year's loss of sales to the 360.

- 08(exclusives that are slated for the year)lineup: PS3- KZ2, GOW3, littlebigplanet, MGS4, resistance 2, HOME, GT5

360- Halo Wars

Now, i'm not sure, but the ps3 has a decent lineup thus far (i did not include ff13, its slated for december and hasnt been pushed back yet, so its def not this year)

The 360 WILL have more steller games to be released, im sure as it did last year (bioshock), and the multi-platforms sell better on the 360.

My guess: Wii: 25m (topped off by brawl, will MAYBE bubble to 30m over it's lifespan)

360: 25m (still growing to maybe 40m or even 50m as more exclusives for 09 will bounce the system off shelves again)

PS3:20-25m, but less than 360 (closes gap)

you remember the games of yore, where the games were so fantastic you couldnt stop thinking about it.

the games where you dreamt of what to do to beat that level you couldnt beat the first 14 times.

the games where even though you lost those 14 times, you thanked the game for difficulty rather thangetting infuriated and damageing your system.

the games where it was always "five more minutes" every hour?

this is the first psp title to do that for me. in fact, it is only the third portable title and maybe the tenth title overall to do that to me.

but maybe im biased. i am a sucker for tactics tiles. but in my opinion, if you liked ANY tactics game (fft for the psx, tactics ogre, even civilization) you will LOVE this game.

end story and rant

not sure if its been said yet, but whatever

think of it this way:

microsoft is adamant about what is exclusive to their console, letting everyone know up front. logical thinking leans that if that is a truth (it is), then they would also use the converse happenings to its advantage as well, such as a ps3 exclusive going multiplatform.

and again, look at what happened with paramount. they were announced exclusive hd-dvd at microsoft's behest too. soo....

these games are exclusive. and always will be as they have been.

i liked valkyrie profile, but other than that, the psp just hasn't really been a powerhouse of fantastic titles in said genre. there's a number of "good" rpg's, pretty much any of them; but as for gotta havs, i saw the squenix remake as the best.

and you should have a more open mind, as i consider myself an rpg buff and even the strategy ones such as final fantasy tactics and jeanne d'arc have been far more enjoyable than the mediocre tbrpgs he psp has to offer.

hope this helps.
