So your saying the A.I. should have become like all powerful bodyguards or police for the galaxy. Well I think there will always be a problem when you use super A.I. in anything because there will always be the question of why didn't they do this, or why did they think this way. Take for instance the original purpose of the A.I. before the crying fans...it was about dark mater. Welll if A.I. is so smart and powerful why kill anything when you can just find a way to stop or fix the problem. The problem with A.I. and the use of them in stories as that they are meant to be capable of nearly everything so when they make a choice we (in our nature) question it as to why and how. Often we challenge it.
I am curious as to what everybody thought was so confusing about the Prime A.I (star child by some) and it's logic. I took it as it was a super A.I. that saw its creators and others create and war with A.I. It then used its cold calculus to say that advanced organic life will always try to create A.I. It then makes the assumption (based off of its experience) that such A.I. will then judge ALL organic life obsolete. So in its cold calculus it then decides to prevent this by culling advanced life every so often. It is the same logic we use to keep the numbers of certain herbivores and carnivores from over population and killing a system. So they kill advanced life before they can in essence commit their own suicide and in the process kill all life galaxy wide. This logic fulfills the purpose of allowing life to continue and younger species are given the opportunity to grow and advance. That’s how I saw it but I may have missed something.
I am amazed at how this news spread throughout the interwebs. I have seen articles on gaming sites, business sites, blogs, and regular news sites...and all have comments. So the desire and interest in ME still remains. I think that just shows how much this series has touched people. As for the DLC, my biggest grip was that the very static ending provided no closure. By closure I am referring to my choices and the relationships I built with my crew. If the DLC can address that in a decent manner then my current bitter feeling will be soothed a bit. I am not one of those pissy members of the gaming community who are never happy and feel bad if they can't complain, rage, or insult someone or something. But I highly doubt Bioware could do anything now to please that crowd.
So...is this a website for games or a section of the New Yorker with "Art" critics pointing their noses to the ceiling and glancing down at us lowly gamers.
