Best of the year for me was Pokemon Sword. Yoshi's Crafted World, despite being very easy, was pretty good too. Tetris 99 would be my "biggest surprise" because it was much better than it had any right to be.
@fraga500: Astral Chain has a niche audience. Pokemon's audience expands much wider. I didn't play a lot of Astral Chain, but Pokemon Sword was very good.
I found Kingdom Hearts 3 hugely disappointing, and I loved the first two. The maps you find in chests were mostly useless, the triangle button did too many things so I often tried to do one thing and end up doing another especially in the Toy Story level, and I absolutely hated the Twitter load screens. Some of the mini-games were stupid and pointless too, like the ones in Rapunzel's level.
@Edwinhernandez: If they do include the Penguin on top of Riddler and Catwoman, then yeah, it won't be any good. Excessive villains is never a good thing. (See Spiderman 3.)
Is Synchronoise confirmed to be a Psychic move? Because I think this is the only site that's reporting that. And anyone know if it's a one or two-bar move?
I subscribed to the Switch online service as soon as it became available, and the only games I played in that time were Tetris 99, the original Zelda, Punch Out, Dodge Ball and Mario. If they don't introduce something substantial (SNES games or another good subscriber-exclusive game), I'm cancelling before my renewal date.
@jimbomdavis: Yeah, I don't agree with the reviewer at all. When it first launched, it was buggy as hell, and I could kinda understand the bad reviews, but now it's fully functional, it's a really good game. Possibly the most addictive game I've played since Skyrim.
Okay, but how about giving more energy when you upgrade? Right now, if you use 150 coins to upgrade your energy, you only expand your energy limit by 10. That's ridiculous. In Pokemon Go, for 200 coins, you can expand your item bag by 50.
