I semi agree with you. If new games were lowered to $45 than I would not only buy new games more often, but also buy more new games.

However, If a company, be it a console manufacturer or game developer, takes losses because they use to much resources to make a game (or console) its their own fault for poor management. If your a business, than you need to sell higher than your cost. However if your cost is high than your price is high. If your price is high, than no one will want to buy. Used games can't be blamed for poor management. just my $0.02.

i hate that people have some misguided hate towards gamestop. Game developers are companies, not a person who puts hard work, blood, sweat and tears into they're "art". It is a product to be sold, just like cars. Game companies are going under because of a failing economy, not used game sells. If I buy a game used, its because I would never buy it new in the first place so my purchase does not affect a game developers profit. Instead I support a GREAT company like gamestop who offers me the chance to try something new that I would never try if they did not exist.

Where is the developers hate for rented games??? Why is gamefly not being brought up???
