@Barighm: Yeah, Roblox teaches little kids how to gamble and even has a black market for converting its currency to real money. What a great learning tool! Fun for the whole fam!

I don't know why they would want to own it. Most of the best games have always been built by independent (indie) developers. Any developer that was turned into a Microsoft employee, can just quit and go back to the indie world, either on their own or by actively looking for work.

I'm betting they bought the whole thing because there were just a handful of games that they really wanted. Like Call of Duty. The same game rebranded and polished and paid full price for every year by braindead schlubs. They're just like sports games. Not sure why anyone buys these over and over. Maybe this acquisition will put an end to it.

Most of the games I'm playing these days are games showing up on the PS (when ported to the PC). Death Stranding, Days Gone, and Dawn Horizon. I liked Control (on everything) too and finished that one.

Microsoft should've bought EA Games. At least Dragon Age and Mass Effect could be brought back to life and maybe put an end to these yearly sports games. I mean who cares about a yearly sports game? I've never seen anything more a waste of time than that...there's no hero's journey in a sports game. It's like repeating forever on a broken record.

Well I just finished watching it and I can't say it was as good as it was when Syfy had it. I really can't believe I'm having to say that. Looks like all the actor lineup has changed again and the show seems to be going in this ridiculous bin Laden in space direction that had my eyes just a rollin'... They've got all these star systems to check out and instead we're going to put all the energy into a mid-east belter warlord...I mean...seriously?

Anything that contains a metric ton of TEXT WALL is a 9 at best. C'mon, man...that looks like way too much reading...why not I go read the latest Stephen King novel instead?

Duh. I first came to that conclusion after I fell asleep at the movie theater while watching the Incredible Hulk (2008) movie. The only exception has been the Christian Bale Batman trilogy & the Joker.

I wish I had a friend that owned a boat to hang out on the middle of the night, telling stories.

If you can't ever get out of the ship and interact with people, this game would get boring extremely quick. It seems pretty mindless.

I'm not downloading Epic just to get access to a game. When it comes to Steam later or at all, maybe I'll pick it up. They're games should be lucky to muster any interest from me in paying full price for any of it. I'd wait for a Sale & pick it up on Steam. If they want to produce games that nobody will be playing because they don't care about Epic, then that is their business I guess. It makes me laugh that a game designer's motivation should be in getting people to waste their valuable time actually playing their game...instead of putting up a paywall or making demands on where we should be buying our games. The game companies that do this must not be very good at their craft.

I've got all the latest ones: Pillars of Eternity, Shadowrun (all 3), Wasteland 2, Tyranny, and Tides of Numenera. I got 5 hours into Pillars, and 11 hours in Tyranny & that's as far as I've been able to reach. And I still really want to pay full price for PofE II!

I think the last time I completed this type of game was the NWN series back in the early 2000s. Completed all of it I did, end to end, & even played through the custom-made bridge modules that joined the sequels together.

But these types of games require a different mindset. I think. You need to sit down & prepare to do some serious reading like you would a novel.

My current pain point is whether I should go back & try to complete the first Pillars game before starting this one, or just go back & play it later. However, I don't think I've ever gone back to play the old game if I've played its sequel already.

I'm not sure where I'm at in Pillars, but even though I've had 5 hours in it, my only thought is to pick up where I left off a few years ago, rather than start from scratch...sort of like a novel you started reading a couple years ago & now you're coming back to it, but you don't want to start from the beginning.

Maybe that'll be my goal for this year: to complete 1-2 or all of the games listed above?
