@shadow131990 Yeah and by playing pirated games they get into gaming, and eventually they will end buying a title, but if they didn't play the pirated games then they may have not even become a gamer in the first place, and a potential EA customer.
@bluefox755 It would be an interesting ratio haha, EA's marketing team should get on that, I'd say they already did though, and all these big companies that make intellectual property hate piracy so much, even though they are earning billions. Have you ever seen the TV show MTV Cribs? That's why I download music.
@Cloud_imperium And the amount of pirated games I have bought and liked, and then gone and bought them. I played pirated Crysis 3, it was OK but I'm glad I didn't buy it. I bought Dead Space 3 after playing the cracked version, and pretty much every total war game, Hitman, Skyrim, Fifa 13, Battlefield 3, Medal of Honor
If it wasn't for cracks I never would have bought these titles and I would of just gone without and downloaded some big bang theory.
@Smokescreened84 Like I said in my other post, the only reason they do this is to fight piracy, they will make more money that way, and they can mask it with the illusion of "social networking, being connected, having a social experience" yady yady yada. Bottom line, it means more money for them, more DLC transactions and more control.
@bluefox755 Because then you can't crack the game! It's really the only reason they want to do it, they wont admit it though, but I'll tell you now that's the only reason they push for it, and in the long run it will make them more money. The thing is, after playing SimCity for a few days now, the features could easily sync with the server when you go off and online, so they could keep the features but everytime you save or interact with another district it syncs then, or if you want you could have it live update all the time. But they don't give you the option because they don't want you to crack the game, this is the fact everyone's forgetting. It's not about always online, being connected experience, that's just what they mask anti-piracy techniques as.
