I just have mine on top of my laptop cooling pad since I hardly ever use it for my laptop. Don't really know how much it helps, but I know it doesn't hurt like the other coolers out there. Come to think of it, my 360 never overheated to begin with even before the cooling pad - just paranoid I guess.
