"sigh", if someone makes a pokemon mmo game people need to keep quiet about it (which I know is impossible) Nintendo are known to shut down fan made pokemon games especially when something gets big. I guarantee this is going to get a cease and desist letter in the coming months.

[QUOTE="Desmonic"]

[QUOTE="KungfuKitten"] PS4/Xbox One aren't what I would call 'proper' next gen consoles either. They're not powerful, and they are even more similar to PC's now. I bet there is a huge group of people who are looking to buy a console no matter what, so they may not be affected much in terms of sales, but rationally I wouldn't expect the Xbox One or PS4 to do well.KungfuKitten

You'd expect wrong. They'll do great (one more so than the other, but that's just how it goes every single gen).

Not powerful compared to what, PC? Well of course they aren't, you can build absurdly powerful user PC's which can run almost anything without even so much as a slight hickup. PC had astronomical leaps thanks to the advance of tech during the 8 or so years last-gen lasted. Of course those techs do have a price, and one would buy a console on the 700$-900$ range, now would they? That's the point of a console. Relatively cheap, simple, plug and play experience. No need to worry about upgrading anything during those 5-6 years it's supposed to last and the "safety" of not needing to worry if a game will work on your machine or not (which, as far as I view it is a moot point, but for many other it's actually a big plus). Also of course they are ever more similar to a PC and so is the WiiU and both handhelds (not so in power, but in hardware structure). What did you expect? Some kind of alien tech?

Compared to WiiU or last-gen (PS3&Xbox360) though? They are a pretty big jump. Maybe not as big as some expected, but big nonetheless. You can easily notice the difference in graphical quality in launch games to late last-gen games already. Nintendo went after yet another gimmick which does have potential but has yet to be properly used in a good way and is not nearly as simple and fun for the casuals as the Wii-Remote was; IMO they should have gone after a bit more powerful console and perhaps (but not necessarily) a different kind of gimmick. Also Nintendo needs a price drop, badly. I mean, right now, for just 50$ more you could get a PS4 which has much better hardware and you know will be supported by the 3rd-party no matter what. I know they are probably reserving it for the launch of the other two, but I fear it'll be too little too late. We'll see.

Calling them "not powerful" using PC as a base is incorrect, since by default any and every console would always be quite weaker than what PC can achieve.

They're also increasingly pointless. Face it. People live in a world where PC's do exist. The price of entry is higher, but only marginally so if you take a loan or pay per month. Apart from that you won't need to worry about upgrades on a PC, and depending on how many games you play even a $1600 PC can end up cheaper than a PS4 or Xbox One. The consoles have become increasingly like PC's. Storage issues, required installs, load times, operating systems. But without the advantages. With all their fees and policies this is the generation where consoles have become absolutely obsolete aside from a handful of exclusives. I do think they will sell fine because people are not very smart. But they really shouldn't sell well.

wait wait wait, you are calling people who choose to game on consoles than pc not smart? The hell? Some people don't invest a lot of time into gaming, Some people don't have it as big of a hobby like you do, so because of that they aren't smart? Really dude you need to calm down with your God complex you got going on. Some people just wanna play videogames and don't care about specs, gigs, Gddr5 and stuff like that. I gotta say you aren't the smart one if you think thats why people game on consoles more than PC.

Thankfully justice seems to have been done and the race baiting media takes another loss.
