I was explaining to one of my engineers and a physicists the other day about 4D gaming and how it likely is not possible in our lifetime. They reminded me that at one point Sony had said the PS3/4 might be able to do 4D and render it at 120FPS. Now since we still don't even have 60FPS, is it fair to say 4D likely is not possible as well? I understand the concept just fine, but how can it be achieved along with 120FPS? The physicist suggest power limitations of the CPU and GPU may be the bottleneck, but the engineer just thought it was impossible.

Your thoughts?

i was finally able to receive my shipping box from microsoft THREE WEEKS after i first called in. Now the problem is with the holidays coming up i expect to get a few dvd's but i won't be able to watch them because i probably won't have my xbox back in time considering last time my xbox broke it took 5 weeks to get it back! I refuse to spend another dollar on any xbox 360 game or accessory. Customer service was absolutely horrible, not to mention it's very hard to understand those people. It's ridiculous how companies now hire foreigners who you cannot even talk to. It's like talking to a robot that doesn't speak clear english. IMO this gen of gaming is horrible. Xbox 360's RROD and expensive internet, PS3's lack of exclusive games, and VERY expensive console, and than the Wii being as kiddy as it is. Wii is fun sure, but not many good games ourside the party genre.

[QUOTE="iamthetruth55"][QUOTE="Jandurin"]You can get a box from a local liquor store.tempest91

I work 25 hours a week, and take 18 credit hours as a science major. I have no time to be going to a store spending MY hard earned money on a box and padding for it. I mostly only use my xbox 360 for movies anyway when i actually have some free time. This has been such an inconvenience. And i am still not even done with them. I am still trying to get them to send me a box over the phone, but they constantly need to talk to a supervisor, and the other night i called after class before they closed and they had no supervisor!!! so now i am have to call back again!!

For every person whining about the RROD, there are ten more who enjoy their 360 without any problems.  Sorry for your luck.

I don't think it has anything to do with luck, more so the xbox 360 wasn't designed well. My friends xbox 360 has gone through it's 3rd repair recently.

[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="iamthetruth55"]You can get free boxes from stores. Padding should be pretty easy to locate, too. Sure, it'll take a bit of thought and work, but it won't kill you, I promise.

First of all this is my second RROD now, which has come at a very inconvenient time right before the holidays. The failure rate of the xbox 360 is absolutely pathetic. Second off, xbox customer support has been utter TRASH. I have been told THREE times now that their "database is down" for upgrades so than i am forced to call back later. Than I finally get ahold of them and they send me my shipping label and all is well.....until i realize they now expect me to provide the shipping box and the padding that goes on the inside. The online tech support guy did not tell me they offer either an electronic shipping label OR they can send you the box with the label already. It's a scam if you ask me. They don't offer the box, but they do ship them out only if you ask. Microsoft has had me pretty loyal since the first xbox, but i am DONE. Two RROD and bad service, however they did send me a free xbox 360 wireless remote ***CONTENT REMOVED***

Sony continues to put a smile on my face with their GREAT games such as MGS4 (AAAAAE), FF13, Resistence 2, Killzone 2,GTA4, Lair, and other Great games. On the other hand is the Flopbox 2008, with game ratings dropping fast and RROD killing systems. I'm so proud to be an owner of a PerfectStation3 that offers me GREAT games, with FREE online and 6 usb drives, along with the Cell. Not to mention Folding @ home helps save life and contributes to cancer research. I feel bad for the Microsoft followers because they are busy spending 60$ a year on Live and they can't even get a decent AAAE this year.

The PS3 is winning the console race? There is a 360 with a 120gb HDD standard. And the DRE problems with the PS2 affected more then .06% of the user base. What world do you live in?Ibacai

My younger brothers bestfriends dad said he used to work for Sony and the whole DRE issue was way overblown. He said it wasn't nearly as bad as RROD, which is obvious considering RROD at one point effected up to 86%!!!

So since ps3 is winning the console race this gen it's safe to say the cell is one of the main reasons for it's dominating success in terms of graphics and sales. i found this GREAT article talking about why the cell is so powerful.

Also Ps3's new 160 gig system is going to blow away all compeition becuase of all the online content available. what are xboxer's to do when their tiny 20gig hd is full

Also i'm sick of hearing people compare RROD to "DRE" from the ps3 (which is overblown anyway). From my sources i've heard that the DRE only affected .06% of the ps2's! and not to mention Sony was generous to provide a 3 month warranty to all systems. Ridiculous how things get over blown. When you buy a dvd it's not covered by a warranty! Sony is big enough to offer that luxery to it's buyers.
