I was explaining to one of my engineers and a physicists the other day about 4D gaming and how it likely is not possible in our lifetime. They reminded me that at one point Sony had said the PS3/4 might be able to do 4D and render it at 120FPS. Now since we still don't even have 60FPS, is it fair to say 4D likely is not possible as well? I understand the concept just fine, but how can it be achieved along with 120FPS? The physicist suggest power limitations of the CPU and GPU may be the bottleneck, but the engineer just thought it was impossible.
