[QUOTE="millerlight89"]I respect everyone's opinions, but I have to say, if that is your top 10 then you must not have played too many games.morrowindnic

Yea, you have Oblivion up there, but no Morrowind?

Didn't see your post earlier, but actually, I never had enough money to buy Morrowind, and every time I did every place around me was out of stock :(

[QUOTE="Im_single"][QUOTE="hadesminion113"]Lol believe me I've played a lot of games, but I'm just not an average gamer. For example, I HATED Mass Effect, And when ME2 came out, I reached for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories instead. An example anyone should understand is this: I like the game Infected for PSP more than any Grand Theft Auto game. Although I do admit, F.E.A.R. and F.E.A.R. 2, as well as BioShock and BioShock 2 should've made it on this list instead of Sims 2 and Wow, and they should've been higher on the list.

I say you should reach for games like Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Planescape and Grim Fandango.

Thanks. I've played System Shock 2 before, although my friend broke the disk -_- Any Idea if Gamestop would sell it still? By the way what kind of games are the other three? And To everyone after my most recent post besides this, I'm glad not everyone is like greatmax lol :D And yeah, more of a casual gamers list, not a "Top 10 Games of All Time" List. And I agree, WoW does take up a crap load of time airshocker, but referring to Evilmeanie, I like WoW too, so you're not alone here :D Although it is a little hard to put down.

I've been playing PC games for a while, and I know that there are a ton of threads like this, but I'd just like to give a few suggestions to anyone here that might be just getting into PC games. Most of these I suppose could also go for consoles. No. 10 - World of Warcraft- If you can afford it (Fifteen freaking bucks a month) WoW is a very addictive and fun game. It's an MMORPG, but what am I saying? Everyone knows what WoW is, unless they've never heard of it or they haven't watched South Park. Any WoW addict would probably be asking me why this is number ten, not one or two. Well, the problem is the game is too damn addicting! No joke, there have been countless news reports on f***ed up things that some mad teen that got insulted over online chat have done. Regardless, WoW is a great game, but remember to play it in moderation. No. 9 - Sims 2- I'm a night person, and so is my cousin, and I have to be honest. Whenever we're up late at night wondering what to do, we pull out Sims 2 and mod, figure out 60 ways to kill a sim, make an ultimate house, try to make the grim reaper stay with us for a bit longer (don't ask), and you know what is great about the game? All of this is actually playing the game! There are no real objectives, you can put it down whenever you want and pick it back up when you feel like it, and you can kill your sims without ruining any objectives. How great is that? No I'm not a serial killer. Although I AM a cereal killer, damn Fruit Loops. No. 8 - Halo/2/3- If you don't know what Halo is, either you're in a convent as we speek, getting this post from some nun who somehow has secret access to the internet, or you have no taste in games. It's simple, either you like it, or like it. Halo is an awesome game, whether you play single player, or multiplayer. Multiplayer games are highly customizable, and let's face it, no matter how unrealistic, anti-grav jumps are way cooler in Halo than when the hippies did it. All in all, Halo is a fun FPS game that you can't go wrong with. It has a pretty good story line, some comic relief when you need it, and decent voice acting. The action isn't bad either. Objectives frequently change, but sometimes environments can get somewhat repetitive (like the flood levels in any of the Halo games). No. 7 - Prototype- It may not be a zombie game, but Prototype definitely fulfills some of the zombie-killing needs us humans have. Aside from battling off the military, you also have to battle off hoards of infected people running after you. From taking down and hijacking helicopters to slicing multiple zombies in half at the waists in one time with a whip weapon, Prototype simply has it all. Have you ever seen a game where you can turn your body into living armor? Or maybe run up a sky scraper and glide to the nearest wall of a building, and run up that one and continue walking like normal? No. 6 - Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion- The main reason I love this game (and play it ONLY on the PC) is because you can mod it so much. Bethesda even released its own mod software for the game. There are multiple sites you can get mods at, and there are also many sites where you can learn HOW to mod at. The game itself also has a pretty good story line, and all in all it's a pretty fun RPG. My favorite feature would be (besides modding, although it also goes along with this next one) armor and character customization. You can do so much to your character when you're creating him/her. You can even download or make your own new races. Oblivion is a must-have for any RPG-lover looking for new modifiable PC games. No. 5 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2- One of the most pirated games of all time (I don't blame them, it's 60$) MW2 is a great game. I have to admit, I rushed through story mode just so I could play multiplayer without feeling like I didn't get my money's worth for the game. If you can afford the game, multiplayer is superb, including tons of game modes, lots of customization, and even ranks, which ultimately go up to level 70 prestige ten, which equals about 700 levels. My favorite feature is the class customization and the callsigns. You can edit numerous things in the class editing feature, including special abilities called perks, that can give you certain advantages in battle. Callsigns are basically your way of saying hello when you shake hands with an enemy, shank him in the back, and say "Suck on that!" Modern Warfare 2 is a great game, but comes at a price (literally). No. 4 - Doom 3- I loved this game. It didn't scare me at all to be honest, but that was probably because I thought the monsters were cooler than they were scary. Setting that aside, Doom 3 has a chilling atmosphere, and is a must-play FPS. Fuse that with decent mutliplayer, and you have a great, entertaining game. Aside from the fact that when a flaming skull with its spine still attached rips out of an innocent lady's body and attacks you you'll sh*t your pants, I personally think anyone that can handle it will enjoy this game. No. 3 - Hellgate: London- This was one of my personal favorite games. I loved story mode, although the plot was off. They could've voice acted more of it out, but if you don't care for reading that's fine too. In this game a Hellgate opens up in London and angry demons start pooring out. The fact that almost every piece of armor you get in the game (later on) is unique is enough to make anyone want the game. There were a TON of bugs at first, but the company now fixed it. The highlight of the game was multiplayer. When mutliplayer was taken off I was depressed for days. It's still down, but it may come back some time or later. If you live in Korea, the game is still doing well online. Online mode was completely free, and fees were optional and gave you additional content and quests. You could run through hoards of demons and zombies murdering them all, with friends! Or maybe take down a giant demon the size of the tower of London, with friends! Or maybe take down a demon similar to satan (believed to be satan by some, although I don't think it is). The bottom line is, if they bring multiplayer back, this game is worth getting. If not, well then it's up to you, although I still like it multiplayer or not. No. 2 - Killing Floor- What's better than decapitating several zombies at once in slow motion with a chainsaw? Killing Floor is the best zombie game I've ever played. It started off with a mod of UT, but became its own game. Now I have to admit, voice acting is attrocious, and every comment from the weapon dealer is somewhat sexual in several ways, but even that is not enought to overcome the shear beauty of this game. The main part of this game is the online Survival-Horror Coop style of play, in which a player fights in a certain difficulty mode, with a set number of waves. Once you get past all of the waves, you fight the boss; the Patriarch. You can also select a perk to level up, which will do a number of things from getting you discounts on certain weapons to increasing weapon damage. Killing Floor is a game you just can't put down, and all for a mere $20.00. No. 1 - Dead Space- My favorite game of all time. Every time I play, I do so in a silent, dark environment with Skullcandy headphones in each ear. If you don't like scary games, stop reading and avoid this game. This is the only game that has ever scared me even remotely. You don't have a HUD, instead all of it is cleverly displayed on your armor and weapons, and when you get a video transmission it appears in a cool projection in front of your character. Strategically cutting off enemy's limbs is key in this game, it's not an average blast-everything-away shooter. Not to mention the fact that the style of play is a 3rd person view tightly positioned just behind the protagonist's right shoulder. This game will leave you checking behind your character constantly, checking vents twice, stomping "dead" enemies with your boot while you have the advantage, and being sucked in the whole time. I've pulled several all-nighters playing this game, and I have to say, It's amazing. In this game not only are you never safe, but you are never calm either. In one part, as you walk past a dead enemy it gets up and attacks you ruthlessly from behind. You're not even safe in the shop or pause menu! Not even walking down a hallway, when a tentacle might jut out of the wall and attempt to pull you down a hallway and out into space. Not to mention the ambient noises that will probably cause you to suffer minor psychological problems when you're done. This game will leave you wanting more and more.

God of War and any good zombie game (I don't know about RE and SH, although SH isn't really zombies, and RE is just mutated people, and you don't really get to smash a ton of crap in either).

I recently started playing alot more pc games, and was looking for some "must play" titles around year 2003-2004 and up. A couple

games i'm gonna go back and play are theif 3 and stalker, any other suggestions?

racer8dan
Those are some good titles. Some of my personal favorites are: Dead Space (Probably the only true scary game I've played. Somewhat jumpy, always keeps you looking back and towards vents, overall one of my favorite games) Killing Floor (1 Word: Zombies. In this game you will encounter hoards of zombies coming at you in waves. The satisfaction of decapitating 3 zombies in a row in slow motion is enough to make me play this game for hours on end, if you like zombie games, get this one.) Modern Warfare 2 (Mostly Self-Explanatory) Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (A must play RPG game. You really can't go wrong, and there are so many mods for this that makes it totally different than the X360 Version. If you decide to get this game and want to get yourself some mods, register here and download some mods right away: tesnexus.com) Prototype (One of the most unique games I have ever played. From running up sky scrapers to using a kind of "whip" to bring down and hijack a helicopter to destroying zombies/infected people. Did I mention you can also use the whip to simultaneously slice multiple zombies into halves at the waist?) Bioshock/2 (The two Bioshock games are also very unique. Hell, what other game lets you shoot bees out of your wrist? Or [As in B2] Dice f***ed up atom addicted "people' known as slicers with your enormous drill?) Well, I have to say that's about it for "necessary games" in my opinion. The MOST necessary of those would probably be Dead Space, Killing Floor, and Prototype if you're looking for games that aren't exactly known around the globe (Although All of them have made names for themselves, especially Dead Space). Although they are are EXTREMELY unique. From a Hud-Less over-the-shoulder third person shooter (DS) to getting slow mo head shots on multiple zombies (KF), and even taking down helicopters with a wip (PT), you can't go wrong with those three games. None the less, all the games mentioned above are some of my favorite PC games.
