It's purely negligent to not have this feature enabled, which most other forums do, for good reason.

I realise they've removed the dedicated server function, but that doesn't mean there won't be listen server based LAN support for PC people.

This news article seems to confirm LAN, however I am unwilling to trust one source of information, so if anyone else has other news articles that also confirm (with dates newer than the one posted) LAN, please post links.

The problem with tab is that 95% of the tab out there is incorrect. Even some professionally done tab/staff books are incorrect. The best resource I've found for being note for note accurate is Lick Library DVDs. Tab will get you so far, but you need to learn music theory too.

If you want to play rock, forget the Fender. It CAN do it, but it's not the best choice. Look at Epiphone Les Pauls, or my personal opinion is the Paul Reed Smith "SE" (the Student Edition are made in korea, still very high quality but a lot cheaper than the Maryland USA made line) line of guitars. You can get a SE Singlecut around $800, or an SE Custom. They are high quality instruments, don't let the made in korea sign put you off. If you have money to burn, the American PRS start at $2000 and go up. I own a USA Strat, USA Gibson LP Custom, an SE Singlecut PRS, and 2 american made PRS Custom 24's, so I'm not bias to one company. But PRS is by far a better instrument than either Gibson or Fender.

That being said, Fender and Gibson have their own UNIQUE sound that nothing else has, but for pure versatility and QUALITY, PRS is unbeatable.

RAM. If you install software or something while booted from the LiveCD it will just install into a RAM drive which is erased when you shut it off. If you download FILES you have the option of saving it to your hard disk, ubuntu has full NTFS support these days, so you can save it to your windows drives without a problem. If you want to install software and keep it for next time you boot, you have to install it to your hard drive (Ubuntu that is). You can install it in a second partition and have a multi boot system (windows AND linux) fairly easily, but dont try it if you don't know what you're doing. However the newest version of Ubuntu, Hardy Heron has an option to install within windows. Do some reading on it, as I haven't read up on it fully yet, but it's another option. PM if you have any questions.
