True, but Mario was not "Iconic" over-night. It took a few games. Even the original Super Mario Bros, which was not the first Mario game, only garnered him a semi-iconic status amongst gamers. It was right about the time of Super Mario Bros III that he truly become the icon that he is. Sackboy, on the other hand, is only on his first rendition, and already has at LEAST the same amount of fame as Mario had at the time of Super Mario Bros. Give him time... I suppose what I am saying is given the same amount of time, or even shorter really, I fully have faith that Sackboy will reach a status somewhere near Mario if not next to him.

He is referring to one or two of the things that were minor problems in the beta. He has not played the full game yet, which is WHY he is asking if these things were fixed. To answer, again, yes... so far, I have had none of those problems in the final build. Have only been playing for a few hours, though, so they might crop up later. I am pretty certain they are gone, though.

I am going to have to put Mario and Sackboy officially in the same league. Both are now officially iconic and impossible to seperate from console gaming forever. I am not going to dethrone Mario simply because he has done too much for all forms of gaming, but I am going to put Sackboy right up there with him now because Sackboy just pushed all of gaming even further. Yes, even non-platformers are going to benefit from the success of this game. It is now the benchmark everyone will be using when a console game says it has "user-generated" content.

Got mine at GameStop today, actually. I have heard some people getting flak from them about selling it today, but mine gave me no trouble at all. In fact, I went in early today to check and see when they were expecting it... and in the time it took him to basically tell me "whenever the hell UPS arrives, but as soon as they get it here we are selling it", he had to answer the phone 16 times (Yes, I counted), and each time was to tell someone else the exact same thing as he told me.

For everyone getting the run-around by GameStop idiot employees, inform them GameStop CORPORATE sent out an automated message informing everyone with a pre-order that they could pick it up TODAY.

If donkey tails all over the face is considered "Trendy", I will scrap my life-time dream of becoming a gay fashion designer right now.

Seriously, though, having a ton of fun. The trophies are just an added extra to the game. Add to the fact they carry with them that "MM charm", and it becomes even better. I get a new trophy, and just the way I got it or its name makes me chuckle. Been a long time since a game distilled fun down to such a pure form for me. Thanks, Sony, for not screwing this one up. Its a keeper.

I know what you are talking about with the arms thing from the beta. It happened rarely, but on certain angles the arms would stretch. And yes, to answer your question, so far I have not seen that happen even once in the final product. Does not mean it never will... just means it has not happened to me yet, and I have been playing the hell out of it. I swear the graphics also look better than the beta... not AMAZINGLY better, but enough for me to think they are improved... just not be 100% sure they are.

Just for kicks, I plastered my partner with donkey tails... and I got the "Trend-setter" trophy. I nearly fell out my seat laughing. Who knew donkey tails were so stylish.

This game is truly amazing! Just got my copy from Gamestop. Cannot wait to sport the Kratos/Nariko costume as soon as the servers go online. The levels that came pre-made are genius and a ton of fun to play by themselves. The urge to replay them every time I see less than 100% is driving me insane. Have to get 100%.

Also, I am noticing a few things tweaked and cleaned up from the beta. For one thing, the graphics look even better than before. Not sure if it is just my imagination, but I would swear they look even more sharp and cleaned up. Anyone else notice this?

[QUOTE="Jack_Bauer07"]

[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]not because its actually good but because the reviewers bought into hype.Guybrush_3

Kinda like Spore, a game that had years of hype, amirite?

alot of the elements of spore were different then what people expected them to be.

I believe the point he was trying to make was that Spore had years of hype riding on it that almost everyone bought into, and yet it still got mediocre scores. Unlike LBP, which had a lot of hype, but delivered on it VERY well. It deserves its 95 score, or higher.

The online will likely go up any minute. They have just been waiting for there to be a mass amount of people with LBP to make it worth putting up the online servers.

As to BestBuy, I got the same confirmation e-mail from them about my pre-order... only to call the store I set up for in-store pickup and have them tell me they are not scheduled to get a shipment in until the 28th? WTF?

Gamestop is swearing they will have it sometime today, though, but claiming UPS has not delivered it here yet in Florida. Something about "adverse weather conditions" in Georgia. What the hell type of "adverse" weather conditions could you have in GEORGIA during October?!
