I definately subscribe to the split timeline theory and that most of the games follow the "Child" ending with only WW and PH following the "Adult" ending (although I supposeit could be possible to put the Oracles games in that timeline too). However, there are a lot of references to OoT in LttP that just shouldn't be there as it follows the "Child" timeline, so either there's another game between OoT & LttP that LttP is referencing (possibly where Ganondorf transforms into Ganon for good), or somehow the oceans in WW drain and Hyrule is reformed. Another thing is that the original LoZ is usually believed to be the last game of the series because you defeat Ganon for good, but in the past two major releases WW & TP Ganon and Ganondorf are separate entities, so, while Ganon is dead,Ganondorf might still be in existence at the end of that game. Currently, I still wouldn't put any games after this entry (except AoL), but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Nintendo making another game that takes place chronologically after this.
The DS has a huge library of games already available, at this point I wouldn't worry about upcoming releases and focus more on what's already there, but that's just me.
I figure the successor to the DS will probably come out sometime in 2009 and I was just wondering what some of you guys would prefer: an entirely new, innovative handheld system (possibly using motion control as was recently suggested), or a machine that takes the basic groundwork laid by the DS (two screens, one touch) and improves it with a better design, better graphics, etc.?
