Notice how MS says "True 4k", but never says "True Exclusives". Huh. Wonder why.

Yes because Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, Forza 7, Ori etc are not exclusives right? People need to find a more valid complaint you know like "I don't like their exclusives" or the fan favorite "I can play it on my gaming PC that I created for this argument".

? They aren't but keep damage controlling.

Switch and PS4 have games not playable on other systems and are called exclusives. Lems live in a fairy tale land where all the games they share with PC are somehow exclusive because they change the meaning of the word to suit their damage control. Sort of like their parent company and "console launch exclusive"

Seriously. Every single one of those games is playable on PC. Not a single true exclusive. I have no idea what @Pedro is trying to pull here. Oh, wait, yeah I do......

What's it to you? You're not a PC gamer, so what exactly are you trying to pull?

This console is exactly meant for people like yourself and it has games you will never see on your PlayStation 4.

Textbook damage control thread. I expect better of you.

There's no damage control if none of you can explain how a console could be made better than this for the same price, not one differing hardware breakdown.

MS creates an XB1 damage-control "true 4k" console, the X1X, which it markets entirely on power, forgetting that consoles need exclusives to stand out. Shows up at E3 and proceeds to show demonstrations of games all running on PC, says the specs are "similar" to the X1X. Meanwhile, hardly any games, both before and after E3, are reportedly going to run at native 4k on this "true 4k" console; and of those that do, almost all of them, which is very few indeed, cannot be run 4k@60fps.

And lems wonder why Sony dominates MS gen after gen.

You guys are going to look so foolish over the next year.

Just like teh power uh da clowd did, right?

Riiiiight.

As I said, you're going to look foolish, and it's already begun.

What rules? You mean the kind that have always existed in resolution, a resolution is set, it always conforms to what it is set at and can therefore be disclaimed as what it is...

Shadow of Mordor cannot maintain its resolution, it falls to sub-native rendering resolutions. So if this game operates at 80% of 4K to 4K, should we average that? Should the average be its resolution?

You can't seriously sit there and consider something with a dynamic frame buffer as a native 4K render, you're reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaching....

It's a 4K game that drops in one particular part of the map for less than 1% of the game. I think it's safe to call it a 4K native game.

But about this? Is Halo 5 a 1080p/60 game?

Yea, if the Game is holding 4K for 85% of the time I would consider it 4K.

Nobody cares what you consider something, something either is or it isn't.

You're right in my hypothetical example the game would be 4K 85% of the time so yea it's 4K.

It's not a native 4K title, it's a game with a dynamic frame buffer targeting native 4K.

Isnt the Ps4Pro's 4k actually just "4k" and not actual 4k.

Because i feel like that would be the actual difference. And the Ultra HD player. And BC. And i believe Microsoft mentioned something about 35 games will be at the 4k level by the time it comes out. Cant confirm that bit though.

Microsoft has 6 past games in the pipeline plus their new ones, 343i is tinkering with the dev kit and Phil said they were doing neat things, and 30 other announced previous releases are getting upgraded, Phil also stated there were even more but they haven't been listed as of yet.

That cost is only an additional $14, they couldn't have gotten a better CPU for $14.

Only 14? Sure about that?

If so, they can go into the red for about 30-50 a unit for a better CPU. They'll easily make that up.

The whole drive is not replaced in the process, only the laser, it's a small cost which is why so many of us were surprised that the Pro omitted it.

They would have had to of waited until the end of 2018 or possibly 2019 for that to be possible.

Then why would 4K BD player drives cost so much more than BD drives?

Oh at retail? Because it's new tech and they know they can pillage the market, however the stand alone drives also probably need extra internal horsepower to play these movies that these consoles mitigate.

@mowgly1: Lol... any evidence to back this claim up?

Anyway, hopefully it's legit.

None, he's full of crap.

It's Playground.
