They've positioned the console to be upgradeable whilst still pulling in your game library going forwards. So I think they are likely to move to much shorter update frequency. This keeps the hardware competitive with PC hardware in the same sort of price range, and allows more income due to hardware refreshes for those that feel the need for the latest and best console technology.

One of the great things about PC gaming is that you're old games (almost) never became defunct. They can be patched to work with newer a OS... or they just work. With the move to pretty much standard PC architecture for the two main consoles of this gen, then I think the console generations will fade into a continuous stream of ever improving hardware.

Brings back the good old days with the nerds comparing Oblivion screenshots between the 360 and PS3.. The results? The same as here.. the games look pretty much the same.. so much so that you have to have them side-by-side to tell the difference.

The 360 had the graphical edge over the PS3, the PS4 has the graphical edge over the xbox One.. but as that never affected the enjoyment of playing PS3 games, it will also not affect the enjoyment of playing Xbox One games...

But nerds will be nerds, and if they have their magnifying glasses handy anyway.. let them enjoy comparing pixels.

@shinjuki AMD Mantle would be a viable alternative (to DX12) to get the best from the PS4's graphics hardware.

@Bazz3442 It's not "wimpy".. it just makes the comments almost impossible to use for people who want a real discussion about a game, rather than a million comments saying how shit it will obviously be.. or is, whether they've played it or not.

It really is just the quantity of pointless nasty comments that is pretty difficult to filter out.

It would be much better if comments (even negative ones) were actually about the game, like the speed of the titan being too slow, or this weapon is too powerful etc... something that is actually interesting.

I played the beta, and I didn't really like the game.. but that's because it just doesn't feel very fresh to me.. but I don't feel the need to slag it off because I'm not enjoying that type of game at the moment..

@immortality20 Just because the game has no bad points.. doesn't mean it can't be improved.

The score, as I'd expect is what they feel the game deserves... and exactly what I'd expect from a review.. so a score of 8 for a $15 dollar game sounds like an excellent deal to me!

Game looks great on both PS4 and XBO.. I really can't tell the difference. Would have loved this to be more of a puzzle game though.. As an orgin game, it seems to have drifted far from the original. (Although I don't miss the fact that I can't progress because I didn't pick up a gold coin at the bottom of a pool I passed two hours ago!)

@kidflash2000 Unfortunately makes me less likely to allow my kids to play it.

@Jacksonfaction "Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light" was my favourite.. back to a proper puzzle game and with two players was great to play with my son.
