@kaijuichi: She didn't say she was "offended" by them she says it was "offensive" meaning it has the ability to offend. For the third time that doesn't mean you have to agree with her interpretation. If you think this is toxic and twisting someone's words to fit your narrative of them isn't then maybe take a moment and try to be objective.

That doesn't mean take what she says as gospel or agree every step of the way but analyze the language (yours, hers, everybody's) independently before you throw your assertations around because someone dared to have a different take on something than you would. It would be better for all involved.

@kaijuichi: You guys don't seem to know how opinions work huh? You can disagree with her interpretation all you want but at least she isn't speaking for an entire group of people. If you want to pretend that Asian culture has never been stereotyped or unkindly represented in American media (using the same or similar over the top accent) you are being blissfully ignorant.

This isn't to say all Japanese people do or should find it offensive but it has the ability to offend. If you aren't offended by it fine, no one's asking you to. But to claim no one will ever feel shitty about their culture being played as an over the top stereotype that's you speaking for people, not her.

Again, that doesn't mean you have to agree with that interpretation it just means someone is able to have that interpretation and disagreeing with it doesn't invalidate it. Whether its based on reality or not is missing the point and a desperate attempt to dismiss an opinion you don't like.

Why do you think she's holding everyone to her own standards when she says she finds it offensive? She didn't say everyone should agree with her or your wrong if you don't. So why project that onto her?

If you come from a place of social politics don't have a place in video game reviews I wouldn't agree with you but I get where you're coming from. If you claim no one should find this offensive because you don't is doing exactly what you're accusing her of doing.

@nativepixel: They are selling a bundle of the base game and all the DLC's for 60 bucks but yeah if you're paying for them as they release they will easily run you the price of three full-fledged games.

I disagree with your point of it being a full game now. It was a full game when it first came out just not the "forever" game people wanted. But a solid 12-hour campaign plus a few extra hours of other stuff is more I get out of most 60 dollar games.

The DLC is overpriced and not worth the content they provide but its more of a game people want more of so Bungie makes money regardless.

@euphoricshadow: Yeah, anyone who likes or dislikes anything more or less than you are wrong and you are the only one with the right opinions. I agree you should take all these peoples jobs because your opinions are the best opinions and you can give the best purchasing advice because your opinions are of the people and everyone is sure to agree with them. Eff the man! EuphoricShadow for GameSpot president!

@RogerioFM: I know exactly what you mean, however, this isn't the kind of game you think it is. Though things like depression and anxiety are themes this game touches on they are presented in subtle and nuanced ways as to not be particularly crushing or overbearing. I didn't find it triggering as much as I found it just relatable.

It never made me feel bad but it did make me nod my head and say "yup, that's what that's like" I don't think you should write the game off I enjoyed my time with it a great deal everyone's different though.

@Legend_of_Link: Two different games having the same score does not mean they are comparable. The things that make Horizon good are not the same things that make this game good. If every game was compared to each other in reviews it would be useless to consumers because you're assuming your readers taste. Your personal preferences in the games you play means a ton when evaluating a game. If you enjoy the kind of game Night in The Woods is than it will probably be a 9 to you same with Horizon. Does not mean everyone who plays games will like it or find what they think makes a good game to them in it. Reviews should be taken with the game in question and what your personal tastes are.

Why are Switch reviews hitting when the retail firmware hasn't been pushed yet? Seems misguided... none of the online features even work until you get the update.

@vgmkyle: Because he didn't review the older games to say he doesn't like their jokes either? I don't get your point.
