Not saying that direct inflation increase would be right as the gaming industry has a far larger market share now, so publishers are selling more copies of their games.

That only furthers my point admittedly being that I was born in around then I don't remember what games went for back then but I so know when I started buying my games for myself over ten years ago not all titles were $60 there was more of a range to it.

The point was though that people shouldn't complain as much about DLC as many new games are worth a little more, even if only based on inflation

Sorry my previous post was incomplete... My point was that games have not kept up with inflation, remaining the same price for too long, so rather than take the PR hit for making a -heavens no- $70 game publishers produce DLC. Keep in mind that since $60 games became the norm minimum wage has nearly doubled, as well as the price of everything else has also increased, natural gas alone went up 50% this spring.

Atleast when they make DLC you get a complete game for $60 and if it doesn't meet the hype -cough destiny- then you don't have to purchase the DLC.

I for one view DLC as an opportunity to dust off a game I enjoyed, using a different play style or character class, or even just a harder difficulty. It's certainly better than a 10 or 20 dollar increase to new games, even if some like GTAV or Skyrim are worth it.

I don't understand why people hate DLC so much I understand how one might not like paying for add on content but, and I can't be the only one noticing this but the price of games has remained the same f
