@texasgoldrush FF7, FFT, Fallout, all considered some of the best in gaming history. I dont believe FF7 is overrated the game is epic for its time. And like Zelda OoT ill never forget how it felt to play such an awesomely epic game, games like that changed me into a gamer. Looking back at a game like FF7 now may make one think its overrated but at the time it blew everyone away.

@texasgoldrush okay well if that isnt motive enough for you then im sure him finding out Jenova was his mother was the main motivator. He ended up wanting to do what she had set out to do.

@texasgoldrush Sephiroth definetly had a motive, he summoned/cast Meteor with the intention of damaging the planet so that he could absorb the "Lifestream" that gathered to repair the injured planet and turn himself into a "god".

I really loved Magus from Chrono Trigger, he starts off as the games main villain then later evolves into one heck of a anti-hero, as long as you choose to recruit him.

I was surprized Dragon Age 2 came out so quickly but after playing it i understand why.
