My xbox 360 recently red ringed. So i managed to send it back in for a new one

Now whenever I wouldn't connect to xbox live, I lose everything I once downloaded

All my background themes, castle crashers is treated to be still a trial, halo 3 can't read my map packs, and I can't play any divx movies

Once i re-connect to xbox live, everything is fine. I contacted microsoft, and they said they tried recovering my gamertag, and they had no problem. Asking me to reformat my whole harddrive

I don't want to lose all my saves, any ideas?

and my friend is a classmate i've known for quite some time, so i dont' think he'll cheat me or anything

I just got my xbox 360 today, and the first thing i did was of course plug in my Gears of war to play it, however, my xbox 360 seems to freeze from time to time while i'm playing the game.

 I went on xbox live, updated my xbox 360, and downloaded the halo 3 beta with crackdown. However, when i was playing the halo 3 beta, my xbxo 360 freezed mid game both times i attempted to play.

 Is there anyway i can decrease the amounts of freezing, or am i doing anything wrong?

 My xbox 360 is a premium 20gb xbox 360, which my friend sold to me yesterday. He bought the xbox 360 3 months ago.
