"Why give director's commentary?" Well, selling the game comes to mind. Considering the letdown of Bioshock 2, who in their right mind wouldn't expect Ken Levine to sell it as hard as he possibly can? He's the face of Bioshock ... some things can't be left to the imagination of gamers if the game doesn't sell. And if this article is any indication, Gamespot will be giving Infinite a poor review ... something that could easily sway myself from buying the game. I don't have lots of friends into video games (I'm old), so I depend on places like this and IGN, G4, etc. for guidance with my purchasing decisions. As for the video? Lighten up on Ken L ... he's clearly working tirelessly on something he cares so much about. We all should be so lucky.

Wow. First, what a terrific and well written article. Second - I posted a RANT about how upset I was for getting home from buying Brink to discover a 6.0 review (I wouldn't normally purchase a game with only a 6 rating from Gamespot, a site I have come to trust and respect - both the staff and the user community). Basically I was blaming GS for not advising me about doing my own homework before I purchased the game (it has been HEAVILY promoted on this site). When my post was removed for a TOS violation, my little feelings got hurt. As I read then re-read the email GS sent outlining why the post was removed, it made less and less sense (i.e. redundancy ... "Please be advised that GameSpot moderators have not moderated you; these forums are moderated"). Figuring it was one of those 'gotta just take it' moments, I let it go. It is with great relief and a newfound respect for the staff of Gamespot.com for explaining their position with this article. Thanks to all the ladies and gentlemen of GS for providing the information that I count on ... and thanks to all of you my fellow gaming GS members. I'm sure we'll all be hearing from each other again soon enough!

@Maxxramman ... *gag* there are three words I bet no one on this planet EVER expected to hear in a sentence: "amazing" and "will ferrell." WOW! I'm intrigued by how stupid parts of this game make me feel at times. To help with that I went and bought the first one. STILL have no idea how or why i'm blasting holes in walls just to be tested by this badly auto-tuned android! HOPEFULLY there will be sometime soon in the game where the greater meaning is revealed (I'd settle for the point ; ) Its also a little strange that the character you are supposedly playing as is a female. Hmmm maybe this is how a female feels if she chooses to play a FPS, i.e. CoD. Interesting.
