@IndianaPwns39 True it could happen to anyone, and if sony dealt with the matter efficiently and quickly, notifying it's customers when or immediately after the breach was discovered, then they would not be to blame, but the fact that they (or so i have heard) put little to no encryption on our personal information, were hacked with such ease and waited 7+ days to inform its customers of the severity of the breach brings negligence into the picture. Sony were negligent in its handling of the crisis and as a result some of the blame is on them. Granted im not saying that the hackers arent to blame, they caused it after all... But Sonys handling of the situation did raise eyebrows

good article, i agree that a few games and some free credit monitoring for sonys customers (for a mere 1 year) is not sufficient... For people who say that this isnt a big deal you are not getting the bigger picture here, identity theft is a big deal! and Sony's breach of security and subsequent actions in the wake of the breach were appauling, especially when the hackers stole enough personal information to take out credit in our names!! Is a few free games and 1 years peace of mind enough compensation for a ruined credit history? if you think so then you can keep defending sony, but you should keep a very close eye on transactions in your name in the future...
