@Pyrosa: No, it sucked...I picked it up again after hearing about the sequel...Rage was a bad game. So much grind, so little loot, and the gun play was straight from the 90s...Driving physics suck, mission design sucks...
I wanted it to be a more serious Boarderlands, but was sorely disappointed. I probably shouldn't have played that right after playing the Doom remake.
Eh dunno...I don't like that they slowed it down. I'm torn on the new movement mechanics (double jump, chain). I like the idea of them, but I don't know if they're "Doom". Doom has always been about speed and gratuitous fire power.
@Iamkalell: The only thing they really added is I need to mine about 10x the amount of rocks I needed before to upgrade anything. It's got a lot of potential, but there's much better experiences out there.
Dunno...I spent 10 hours with rock hunt, and it's just not a fun game. The grind got worse with this update, and the game play is all about shooting rocks. Need fuel for your mining gun, go shoot a rock, need fuel for your star ship, go shoot another rock, need an upgrade for your mining tool, more rocks. That free suit upgrade you used to get if you found it...now it's an hour of shooting more rocks to repair the stupid thing before you can use it.
On a better note, because of this update I found Empyrium, which is a far superior experience. Rebel Galaxy is good for 10 hours of blasting pirates, and Elite Dangerous has gotten much better.
@pmcollectorboy: True, but that was like 5% to 10% of my play time, and completely avoidable if I choose to ignore it... Rocks in NMS are 75% of the game play loop.
@tenorsounds: I'm playing normal...Maybe I just don't have the patience for it. God it's a lot of wasted time to get the basics. I usually load up on 5-10 launch cells...but it's still a chore.
